How about Monmouth?
How about Monmouth?
The posting lists a deadline of Aug. 1, and if it's only posted on the school's site, then that suggests they already know who they want, and the posting is just a formality.
Denard to Rutgers?

I agree. Not sure who the finalists are. But they are either desperate or financially stable. Can’t be anything in between.
Good point about financially stable.
Based if hint was right maybe Tom Walsh? Looking at all the other Big West Assistants cant really see any of them wanting to go to Irvine unless Darius and Emma dont get retained and they're trying to get anything. Or maybe some Fullerton/Long Beach 2nd assistant distance coach.
I’m thinking it could be Houlihan or Dena Evans from the PAC-12. And Alex Tebbe or Casey Kear from the Big West. We should know on August 1st.

Compagni is there until mid August. Interviews just started last week.

Well let’s see the receipts for the dues that were paid!!
Heard Gabe is the man for Boston. Mark it closed.
Heard the same thing. This leaves Clark with an entire staff to fill and August is nearly here.
Hard to imagine it’s narrowed... best prediction seems to be vanhoy for distance!
Were the dues paid?? wrote:

At schools like that, there are no dues if they were selected by god ?

The commentary on this hire is so unoriginal and predictable, yawn. What are you guys upset about? This is an entry level assistant position to coach women only. This isn’t a big money job, and it seems mutually beneficial. Liberty women aren’t that good, and Johnson may be marketable for recruiting. Gives her a chance to get into the profession, and see what she can do.

Look at this quote from the article: "We are excited to see how God will use Rachel at Liberty," stated Liberty Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Brant Tolsma.
Anyone posting on letsrun will get struck by a lightning bolt just setting foot on Liberty's campus. Be honest, you sinners, this isn't the job for you or for me.
I am happy for Rachel, she will do well and I am rooting for her.

I'm hearing from very good sources that UC Irvine is down to David Freeman (former USC coach) and one of the assistants from Long Beach State. This fits into the clue that the two people are from the Pac-12 and Big West.
And she is pretty hot. Forgive me, Lord.

Is this what we’ve come to?
UCI kids don’t deserve this!!
UCI administration you ought to be ashamamed of yourselves paying grown @!s men and women 35k salaries right smack center of South Orange County one of the wealthiest areas of all the land.
I think Mickey Mouse gets paid more!
You mean to tell me you cant squeeze out at least 50k for your staff? The UCI intramural staff makes more than that?!?! This is ridiculous. This sport and those kids deserve better.
No disrespect to those young whippersnappers trying to make a name for themselves. Tebbe, Kear you keep hustlin’ kids. But wow someone get Steve Scott on the line and see what he thinks about this.
Blasphemy.
Rutgers throws finished yet? Lordy taking some time. Has Clark reached out to any field event staff yet?
Boogie goes to TAMU. Chuck Ryan is on the prowl

Not distance. They suck a lot. Can’t believe a team with Bethan Knights and Brie Oakley in it can’t make waves in the NCAA.
Also, their most consistent guy in the last decade transferred to UCLA (Brandt) and has been pretty good.
Agreed.
So the answer was Robyne fucking johnson!?
Robyne's team at BU was terrible. Their men got 4th in the Patriot League even though they are fully funded. They lost to Army, Navy, and Bucknell which is a non-scholarship school!
Their women fared a little bit better, but only managed 3rd behind Army and Navy. BU women are fully funded as well.
They have the fastest indoor track in the nation - Kejelcha can vouch for that. They are in a great location in Boston and their academic programs have are some of the best in the nation. They can also redshirt athletes while pretty much every other team in the league cannot. They were underachieving BIG TIME under Robyne.

Things have started to settle in the California coaching scene. Staff completions are in the process right now. Here is a current update on California coaching positions:
Cal (Head Coach) - Robyne Johnson
CSUN- (Head Coach) - Justin Johnson
Stanford- (Head Coach) - JJ Clark
UC Davis - (Head Coach) - Ngoni Makusha
UCSB- (Head Coach) - Darius Terry
UC Irvine (Distance Coach) - Decision August 1st. It's down to two: Current Big West Coach vs Former Pac-12 Coach
I'm hearing the ex-Pac-12 guy is none other that Mike Maynard from UCLA. He sat for a year is now ready to get back into it. He already lives down there and is established. We'll see...
I ran for Fullerton two years ago. Tebbe made all the training for the steeple-10k and XC. He made a big difference for us. I know coaching doesn't pay well but I don't want to see him leave so I hope it isn't true.
