Here he was boasting about beating him . I assume THAT was cheated too? Does Jim not know? Or not care? Posted a photo being ahead of him -

How can you speak for other people?

You personally might have no idea who you have accepted on your Facebook friends list, but others might.

There's no requirement to befriend every runner on Facebook just so you can see posts.

He claimed to have beaten Jim and posted it all over Facebook.

Why is it so unreasonable to wonder if Jim is now aware of his cheating and angry that he cheated to beat him and might not want to stay connected to him?

It's difficult to run 350 miles through Brazil, while cramming a 135 mile race in the middle, then summarize an experience like that into a digestible piece of reading material. My words will never do it justice, but nonetheless, I had to try. I owe this amazing experience to Chris Roman, Pedro Costa and Jo Weakley Agnew. Like I say in the story, "We started the Caminho as friends, and finished as family". Thanks, guys. I love you all.

Patrick Wills from Houston, TX initially finished third. But he missed out-and-back checkpoints and had unbelievable negative splits when the course turned to mud in evening. He has had no response. This should be it's own thread, no? Although the number of cheats seems to be unending, people may be having some cheater burn out.

I heard buzz from some aid station workers about him acting suspicious and spending way too much time in their aid station for him to turn in a faster 3rd loop, so I'm hardly surprised.

There really should have been check mats at the two out and back aid stations; as it stands it's his word vs the word of some volunteers, and he was only busted for the faster split on the 3rd loop.

Interesting that he's left pics of his buckle and prize on Facebook page/profile pic even after the DQ.

Patrick Wills was DQ’d for missing checkpoints at the out and back turnarounds on both loop 3 and loop 4. The RD’s statement in the IRunFar article clearly states this. It also clearly states that runners knew to check in at this points, and that is correct. I was there, and the RD emphasized that is was the runners’ responsibility to check in at those two points, and that they would be DQ’d if they did not.

Hmmm....I am acquainted with Chris Romain, not a close friend or anything. but I wonder if he is aware of Agnew's cheating? He had commented on the cheater's FB post above.

Agreed. Especially because he's another serial cheater. I looked at his ultrasignup and he absolutely cheated at the Houston Running Festival in December. This middle-aged mid-(and fudge) packer won the 50k by OVER AN HOUR. And he no doubt did it Kraphouse Kelly style since it was on a two mile looped course. His previous 50k time, just four months earlier, was 6:39. He definitely deserves his own thread.

The Houston Running Festival is a flat loop. He ran Houston Marathon in 3:15 (7:27 pace), so a 50km at close to the same pace on a flat course isn't totally out of the question. But that previous 50km time, on a 10km loop with very little elevation gain, suggests there's no way he could go sub-4:00 in a 50km. I would question his Houston Marathon finish time too.
