BE PREPARED BECAUSE NBC WILL MISS THE BREAK ANY TIME NOW
Yep. They were in commercial when FLanagan was dropped and now they are interviewing the Muslim fencer. I officially take back my question about whether she should have been the flagbearer. If the PC police are going to ruin my freaking marathon, I can't stand for it.
So because some NBC producer decided to go to an interview that will probably be more interesting to the average viewer, an athlete who has had to deal with intolerance is now not deserving of recognition?
Does the decision by someone at NBC now negate the intolerance she has faced?
This kind of reaction makes me think you never actually thought the fencer deserved to be flag bearer, you just thought it would be the right thing to say.
Desi is done
Political correctness needs to go home DEVESTATED.
Shalane is struggling. If she loses contact, it is over for the Americans.

It's kind of weird how in track we compare men and women. In the NBA, we never hear anyone talk about how many titles LeBron has won versus Cynthia Cooper.
Nobody knows who Cynthia Cooper is. Desi is better known than . . . who is the number 2 male marathoner?
Desi is out???

I thought it would send a powerufl message. But i see both sides. It's basicallyi affirmative action. THey aren't interviewing anyone else from that team on NBC.
think Desi is slowing down a little.

Meant to quote Fencer
Is the tangent line actually painted on the course or just part of the NBC telecast?

Except NO ONE did that.

Speaking as an "average viewer," I've already seen a disproportionate amount NBC coverage of the Muslim fencer. Enough already! Do you really think the average viewer cares about fencing? Or that the average viewer finds a woman who has to choose her sport based on covering up her entire body lest she lead the men of her religion into temptation "inspiring"???
FLangan is tough. It would annoy the hell out of me to be dropped by 3 seconds. I'd like just pack it in and get dropped by more. I t would drive me nuts to be right behind them.
REminded me when I realized I wasn't going to hit the Olympic trials standard in the marahton. I was like I"d rather miss by 3 minutes than 3 seconds.
Dibaba looking VERY comfortable...
Does the bike idiot have to get so close to the athletes??? Annoying motorcycle whine...
