They deliberately delayed it and then created a false sense of urgency so that people would vote on it without reading it understanding that they threw in enough pet pork projects to secure a handful of cross over votes to assure its passage. The swamp at its worst.

The Democrats cannot have a frugal budget because they are the party of those who want something for nothing. Those who want handouts instead of work. Of course Fetterman doesn't, and didn't, have the authority to parole anyone...but, by all means, don't let simple facts get in the way of your hate.
He couldn't parole them, but he did have influence over pardoning them. He was Chair of the Board of Pardons for the state of Pennsylvania while he was Lt Governor.
It's pretty much another virtue signaling bill. They likely were voting against another funding increase for the FBI. Are they incapable of investigating child sex abuse with their current $9+ billion annual budget? I think the omnibus has them earmarked for a new HQ building and an increase in their budget to $11.3 billion. Politics 101, if you want to get some funding passed, say it's for the children and anyone who votes against it you can depict as a monster.

Secondly life expectancy is routinely lowest in rural areas of republican states.
