Worst per capita vaccination states, at least one shot
MS: -1% cases / -19% hospitalizations
AL: -17% / -10%
LA: +11% / -16%
TN: +5% / -13%
ID: -11% / -6%
GA ---> Used to be last, now 45th. Yeah baby! Plus, we're a Blue state now.
IN
WY
AR
MO
SC
TX
In the interest of fairness...
The converse is that of the bottom 5 states in terms of one shot, only LA and TN have an increase in cases over the last 2 weeks and none have an increase in hospitalizations.
On the other hand these are the 5 best vaccinated states and their cases and hospitalizations increases/decrease. 3 have increases in cases and 3 have increases in hospitalizations.
NH: +15% in cases / +41% in hospitalizations
ME: +76% / +3%
CT: -4% / +7%
NM: +1% / 0%
MA: -9% / -1%
In addition, the 7-day average for cases per capita for the top 5 states in terms of vaccinations is 27 per 100,000. The 7-day average per capita for the bottom 5 states is 11 per 100K.
Below are some vaccination demographics for the most vulnerable age groups. Not all state vaccine dashboards have data on demographics and some just have raw numbers and not percentage of population vaccinated. I just tried to pull some data from the top and bottom most vaccinated states. States like NM and CT opened vaccinations to all age groups early and you can see that while they have a high percentage of total population vaccinated, the older age groups are similarly or not as vaccinated as states at the bottom of total vaccinations.
Georgia (45th in terms of number of 1st doses administered) has now vaccinated (88% of 65+):
82% of 65-74 age group
95% of 75-84
90% of 85+
CT (3rd): 72% of 65-74 && ~77% of 75+
NM (4th): 66% of 60-74 && 74% of 75+
VT (6th): 97% of 65+
ND (27th): 69% of 70-79 && 74% of 80+
TX (39th): 72% of 65+
ID (46th): 79% of 65+
LA (48th): 75% of 70+
AL (49th): 61% of 65-74 && 67% of 75+
It will interesting to see whether opening up vaccinations to the general population age groups early or focusing on vaccinating the most vulnerable age groups first will be the better strategy.
If anyone still mocks the idea of the trump campaign working with russia during the election, might be a good time to put that to rest.
A new report from Treasury says that the secret campaign data the chairman of the Trump campaign gave to a Russian intelligence asset....wound up in the Kremlin. And that is one reason Biden slapped new sanctions on Russia.
And that's just one example of Trumpers working with Russians. Doesn't even get to Wikileaks and Roger Stone.
Oh hey Trump pardoned both Manafort and Stone. Two Russian spies. Traitors.
"The U.S. Treasury Department said Thursday that Konstantin Kilimnik, an associate and ex-employee of Paul Manafort, “provided the Russian Intelligence Services with sensitive information on polling and campaign strategy,” during the 2016 election, an apparently definitive statement that neither Special Counsel Robert Mueller nor the Senate Intelligence Committee investigation made in their final reports.
“This is new public information that connects the provision of internal Trump campaign data to Russian intelligence,” Andrew Weissmann, who led the prosecution of Manafort for the Special Counsel, told Just Security on Thursday.
The eye-catching statement was included in an announcement of new sanctions related to Russian interference in U.S. elections. The Biden administration took a number of steps Thursday to punish Russia, not only for election interference, but also the SolarWinds cyberattack, its ongoing occupation of Crimea, and human rights abuses. "
Kilimnik is, according to the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report, a Russian Intelligence Services officer who became central to investigations of Russian interference in the 2016 election thanks to his close ties to Manafort, who served as Donald Trump’s campaign manager in 2016

Give it a rest Agip. You are embarrassing yourself for the 1000th time. Seriously, you need to get over the conspiracy. The Mueller report after months of investigation determined no collusion/conspiracy between Trump campaign and Russia. Please just let it die. It never happened. You look pretty pathetic clinging to this. It never happened.

No, not saying that. I just prefer less growth. Strangely, not everything is a political statement, or has some underlying motive. That said, the growth is reflected in my house value, which I do not intend to sell in my lifetime, so good for my kids

Just an update on thread health, the "President" Biden thread has recovered to slightly more than 2 pages/day, but the increase is anemic and resembles asymptotic toward a limit well below 3.
3 pages/day would crack 1000 a year, 4000 if he survives all 4. Won't catch up to the President Trump thread, obviously. Sorry folks.
Kardashians get lots of clicks, likes and comments. You strike us as that sort.

Religion has nothing to do with this. I've said from the start Joe Biden was Jimmy Carter 2.0 and he has done nothing to dissuade me of that. If the congress and he go through with their pack the court agenda, that will push him into the Hugo Chavez 2.0 discussion. The Democrats fully understand that the radical socialist agenda they are pursuing would violate the constitution, so they want to eliminate the balance of power and the idea of judicial independence as they strip away democracy one executive order at a time.

Another empty trump promise that Biden is taking care of in his first year. And to think he didn't even have to invite the taliban to US soil and do a photo op.

NOTE that the BBC thing is from more than two years ago, and the point of agip's post is that there may be NEW (or newly-released) information that had not previously been taken into account.
US cases continue to climb: Up 29% from their March low.
But deaths keep falling. We're now generally below the number of deaths during the summer '20 lull.
Globally, the numbers are very bad. Skyrocketing cases and deaths. No signs of moderation yet.

reminder that when Trumpists say 'socialism' they mean whatever the holy heck they want it to mean. It's a nonsense word to them, like the boogy man.
(there is around a 0.5% chance that the Dems pack the court. The commission may suggest something like term limits though, so every president nominates 2 justices per four year term, Which would make all the sense in the world.)
