The establishment has done all in its power to stop Trump.

I know this sounds a little crazy, but hear me out. As daring as it seems for Trump to be running, he is actually doing it in part to delay the convictions and not just for the mouth breather cash. This midterm election was the point which trump's underperformance crossed a line for the GOP. He shamelessly knows the game here and his usefulness - he knows the Democrats seek to "manage" his downfall and maximize the destruction of the GOP.

The shift in his mindset is going from "how can I remain shielded by the GOP" to "how long can I avoid bigger problems". His best bet right now to stay out of trouble for longer is to run and fk everything up for the GOP. He buys himself more time and replenishes his grift jar, to get ready for the inevitable problems down the road. He is now a full blown liability for the GOP and he and they know that. It is not in the interest of Democrats and our democracy to lock trump up right now. That should have happened long ago, but the damage is done and right now we need him alive and kicking as a failed and disgraced ex-POTUS to ensure the GOP suffers a slow and certain death.

Right. He is simply trying to get out ahead of the indictments. The theft of documents case is rock solid. And there are many others. Have you ever had to wait for an indictment to come against you? I haven't either but I can't imagine Trump dealing with that impending doom very well. He needs to "do something about it".

the funny thing is that since the midterms, Trump actually running for Prez again would be a gift from heaven for the Dems. So when Trump cries foul about the indictment being a Democrat political act against a candidate, even that play will be a complete failure.

Trump should want the indictments to move forward and go to trial. He will be acquitted and claim that the judge apologized to him for the charges and that the judge told him she's never seen such an abuse of justice in all of American history. Trump would use the acquittals to prove the swamp is out to get him.

I mean does anyone really think trump will be convicted? I just can't see a jury doing that. Some dude will refuse. Just in time for the 2024 election to be a way for m'aga to release it hatred and loathing of law, order and decency.

I much prefer a fountain of never ending legal issues than convictions that put him out of the game for good. He should have been in trouble long before he ever ran for POTUS, but now that's he's done the damage and that he is unelectable, it pays off to have him completely fkn up the GOP for years to come. After we are done with that I hope he rots in jail.

What letter grade would you give Biden so far and why?

Not sure where you're going with that, but I disagree.

1) He lost the popular vote twice.

2) He was impeached twice.

3) Those in his Administration didn't always do what he wanted them to do with the capper being Pence not agreeing to go along with Trump's coup.

4) He was summarily rejected in these midterms...candidates he supported got sh!tcanned, and Republicans who distanced themselves from Trump did well.

5) Polling shows that DeSantis is more popular among Republicans.

6) He was a one-term President who got sh!tcanned by an OLD Democrat who not only had been rejected by Democrats before to be President, but one who hardly campaigned due to the pandemic.

Now, I'm not all into "the establishment" running things, but IF they are, he has been stopped pretty well.

I've seen harsh but this is really harsh.

and as an aside, the right wing mean writers are much better at their jobs than the left wing mean writers. The Lincoln Project has its problems, but having the right wing media assassins on your side is a lot of fun. It's true that conservatives have more fun than those on the left.

Trump is going through a rough time for sure.

The reason why you can't quite count him out yet is because so far, he has had the power to destroy any dissenters in the Republican party. It's a huge risk to go against him because his base is so loyal. This seems to be weakening but nobody wants to be the guinea pig to test it out, even Desantis is scared to talk bad openly about Trump.

Trump is a resentful person. If they don't give him the nomination, he could derail the republicans by running independent. He will never gracefully concede.

All this is to the detriment of the GOP.

Also, this is super highly unlikely, but Trump could change his tune and come up with new good ideas that would renew faith in him. Like I said, very unlikely but not impossible.

The GOP establishment refused to fund MA-GA candidates such as Bolduc, Laxalt & Masters. Cocaine Mitch preferred to lose the Senate than to lose his leadership position and I blame him and the RNC chair for those candidates losing their races. The GOP from now on has start playing the same game as the dems and that is to ballot harvest in the same states as the dems are currently doing. We need new blood to lead the RNC and to lead both the Senate & House. McCarthy & Cocaine Mitch are establishment swamp creatures who continue to destroy the GOP- they need to be primaried and ousted.

The GOP got sh!tcanned, and you proved to be the biggest loser aside from Trump.

We have reached the time where it is ok and even beneficial to go against Trump. Trump-backed candidates got sh!tcanned in the midterms, while those Republicans who openly were against him did well. Not a risk to go against Trump anymore. He's poison, and pretty much everyone is treating him like that.

Regarding DeSantis (in addition to the fact that he is polling better than Trump), he already said regarding Trump, (paraphrased), "Scoreboard!"

The Republicans will come home to Trump. They have no idea what to do otherwise. The base demands it. Trump's big arms are waiting for Rs and Rs will apologize, call dems socialists, and go with their spanky.
