The Republican party has to wash their hands of Trump if they ever want to win again. Its that simple.

The biggest loser post of this election cycle. 52 or 53 Republican seats, huh? Not going to win PA or hold AZ, huh? Trafalgar, huh?

Yep. It is not going to be easy and it's not going to be quick.

The GOP has made some HUGE errors. Getting behind Trump is the biggest mistake, because he's a serial lying criminal who WAS a threat to our Democratic Republic. BUT, the current crop of Republicans took it further. Here are the things that have put the GOP in peril:

1) Trump. He's a serial lying criminal and a fool.

2) Roe v. Wade issue PLUS Clarence Thomas stating he wants to ban contraception. Just insane and completely out of touch with the majority of Americans. Depending on the polling you use, 65-70% of Americans are pro choice. Bad decision by The Supreme Court. This decision has already led to several states protecting abortion in their state constitutions, and more will follow. Eventually it will be protected nationally again.

3) Demonizing people of color, homosexuals, trans people, women, and foreigners. The audience for that noise is mostly old people, and they are dying off. People under 40...not under 30, but under 40 voted overwhelmingly for Democrats in this midterm election. Younger people don't stand for all this hatred and bigotry.

4) Qanon nonsense. ALL of the Q people are conservatives, and ALL of them are batsh!t crazy. Independents see that and run screaming. Many Republicans left the party due to that inanity.

5) Rise of Christian Nationalism. Most Christians don't embrace that crap, but far too many do, and it's that kind of garbage that drives people away from Christianity and keeps people who never were involved in church from joining.

SOOOO many mistakes. I'm not sure how the GOP recovers. Trying to win a culture war with Democrats isn't going to do it.

Hilarious! He should have learned his lesson not to listen to Trafalgar and all those other right-wing pollsters he hung his hat on when he was posting as Rigged for Hillary.

Here's the path forward:

1. Republican house majority can put an end to the Democrat spending orgy. Combined with the Courts stopping illegal executive actions, Biden's domestic agenda is over.

2. Let the Democrats rally around their 80-year-old with 40% approval. Nominate Desantis.

3. Get an organized, large-scale ballot harvesting machine together. This is where the Democrats are killing us. We need to be driving through working-class and suburban neighborhoods, collecting ballots, and then loading them into SECURE drop boxes.

If we stick to the plan, I think we can enter 2025 with the White House and 57 senate seats.

You will notice that no republicans are talking about changing their policies and views in their paths forward. Their plans are just different ways of gaming the voting system to get back into office.

The Problem that they have is young people are not buying the election denying, racist dog whistle, christofascist views. Oh yeah, their decades old tax cuts for wealthy and huge corporations under the debunked theory of trickle down economics isn't working on them either.

No such thing shall happen. They shall carry that baby to full term eithout adoption after. May it be a permanent arrangement.

How come you Liberals here no longer talk about the greatest threat to American democracy in the nation's history, the Jan. 6 "insurrection" or the Mar-a-Lago raid that would most assuredly put Trump behind bars for many, many years? You guys were hysterical about those 2 events for many months. They turned out to be non-stories after all? Maybe let's let a scandal "play out" for a while before getting so hysterical and giddy about the certain outcome of such event. Okay?

NB: The Dems had 60 members for 72 working days.

a) That did not mean they had 60 *votes*.

b) Roe v. Wade was still in effect, so in those 72 working days other issues received higher priority. There was no reason to think that Roe would not continue.
