ATY Runner busted faking laps

First time to post on the Kelly thread. So glad this guy got caught. His "fake results" were similar to my legit results when I started doing ultras in 2011. During one 100 miler, I tried to plan my race pace according to his blog post for the same race the previous year. I baked my legs and had to call it a day after 3 loops. The race was well within my ability. I was PR-ing left and right at the time. But not at Kelly's pace that day. I ended up with an injury that ultimately led to my barely being able to finish 50ks at the moment. So...f you, Kelly.

Hey, ATY Runner, I'm pretty sure we know a lot of the same people in the community. I've chatted with a few people who have remained in contact with Kelly in the last few years after I stopped talking to him, but nobody has heard a peep from him. Anybody you know heard anything at all? Anybody even know where he is right now?

I kept him on my facebook to see if he said anything, but he's made no posts at all.

He might well be removing negative comments of course, but I can't see any at all.

Just ONE positive comment from a fanboy saying he's still his friend------ puke.

Course he'll keep running. People are soft. They don't mind cheats. Well, it depends who you are. Loads of cheats get away with it as people like them so turn a blind eye.

Plenty of RD's will let him in their race again.

Larry Macon and his scamming sidekick Parvaneh were outed on here four years ago, NOTHING has changed. They just carried on. Larry recently faked his 2,000th marathon and no-one at all cared he was a cheat. His facebook is nearly at 5,000 and if you show people the Marathon Investigation report on him cheating, they ignore it, and carry on calling him a hero.

Its ALL about pretending to be nice.

If Agnew is popular, with supporters still, then he''l be back.

I'm astonished at the outcry on here, when loads of others cheat and no-one cares.

A thread on here won't stop him if it never stopped the others from carrying on cheating!

It's a bit different here - lots of DQs, national stories due to the hilarious hiding in the crapper, insulting other athletes, making a living off running/cheating (maybe?), dropped by sponsors, etc. Larry is just an old ass attorney walking marathons every day.

INCORRECT. Larry Macon does NOT walk a marathon every day. Jeeze, are you people STILL falling for this crap. He FAKES walking marathons. FAKES . Okay?

He might do a few official ones (though he's cheated there too) but when it comes to the races him and Parvaneh put on, BOTH fake doing them and sign each other off as finishers.

If those two losers can continue to get away with it, Agnew can. No-one cares. You can tell people until you're purple in the race what scammers they are, but people don't care!

There will still be thousands of people telling him how amazing he is as people are f-ing stupid.

My guess is Agnew won’t be running in ultras again, for a couple of reasons. While shallow people that value his tats may forgive him, I think a fair amount of RDs aren’t going to do that as easily. Kelly befriended them, manipulated them, maybe got a comped entry, then stabbed them in the back by cheating their races. I’m sure a few are feeling hurt by this, and I doubt Kelly has it in him to repair those relationships.

But secondly? I suspect he’s a con artist. Where did he come from? Hasn’t he been evasive and vague about his past? I think he and his wife will move on to a group where they aren’t fighting an uphill battle for marks.

Exactly. He's got 16 addresses scattered throughout FL, CA, WA, UT, AZ, PA and nine phone numbers in the last 10 years. Sounds like he's a serial huckster moving from town to town. "Running" was his game the last five years. What was it before? What will it be next? Where will he find his next marks? Anyone want to check arrest records for him in these states? There's zero chance he hasn't spent time in prison.

check your facts. PM was never DQ'ed from Badwater either year. Chickenchit RD never had the balls.

Kelly now has company! Another serial ultrarunner was caught and DQed in Australia. I understand he has be DQed and banned from races before.

Moayedi was seen getting in a CAR at Badwater. Why was she not booted out? She was dq'ed from Houston.
