brandon mcbride just ran the 2nd fastest 800m in NCAA history (not counting ryun's conversion) and got the crap kicked out of him. That was one of the most incredible things i have ever seen. I wonder if this will alter his thinking on the US juniors/OT's dilemma. I could understand his thought process when he was a 1:45.93 guy, but if you can run 1:43.55 within 48 hours of a low 145 prelim, i have to think you run the trials right?

1:43.55 is #3 in the world behind 2 times at altitude, so maybe technically a world leader. It is #7 junior all-time. It was a perfectly executed race. McBride set a perfect pace and he looked comfortable following him and easing past him in the last 150.
Interesting splits according to Kevin Liao: 24.13, 26.36, 25.98, 27.10. A noticeable slowdown and surge from 200 to 600.
