Guilty as sin. I will enjoy the impeachment proceedings. I wonder how Raskin and Shifty Schiff will feel about being on the other side.
I'm no fan of Joe, and I'm sure we could find plenty of things to impeach him for based upon the low bar for impeachment set of recent. That being said, let's try to stop trying to prosecute every president. It's a waste of time and resources. The founding fathers set the standard of high crimes and misdemeanors. As a result, there was exactly one failed impeachment trial in our first 197 years as a country (and there were certain to have been far worse indiscretions during those years than we have today, they were simply less publicized). Now we have had three impeachment trials (and a January 6th witch hunt) in the past 49 years, for stuff that, quite frankly, was not that serious. Trump was partially impeached for a quid pro quo. Biden just attempted something similar with Saudi Arabia.
We could waste a bunch of time and resources and get a partial impeachment based upon that standard, but to what end? He'd never get impeached by 2/3 of the Senate (even if they did, would you really want Kamala in charge while the Ukraine War is ongoing? I'm sure she can find Ukraine on a map, but she hasn't exactly demonstrated much ability as the border czar.) The Dems were aware of Hunter Biden and the laptop from hell going into the last election. They stood behind him then and they will stand behind him in an impeachment trial.
