The only thing Trump has killed is liberalism. Permanently. Trump is a reasonable man, he wanted nothing more than negotiation, compromise and sunny days for all of mankind. Instead, liberals smacked away his out stretched hand and tried to burn the country down in reprisal. One day, liberals actually will "wake" up for real and realize they messed with the wrong Patriot.

Russia has a vested interest in the outcomes of US elections. You could even go so far as to say that the existence of the current Russian regime depends on the outcomes of US elections. Russians would be crazy not to try and influence certain groups of US voters to vote Russia's way.

the senate is just a tossup...hard to predict that one. Will be close. I wouldn't be surprised at 52-48 Dems or 52-48 Rs. If you put a gun to my head I'll predict the Dems win the Senate but that's basically a coin flip.

I'll also predict that DeSantis does not run for the nomination and Trump gets the nomination without much of a fight. If he is a free man and not in jail or in some kind of lengthy law enforcement procedure.

If Biden runs for reelection, trump will be reelected. if it's newsom....then I think Newsom wins.

Newsom is your hope? The adulterer who single handedly cratered the California economy during COVID? Things are worse for Democrats than I thought.

Yeah, Newsom isn't a good candidatefor the Dems. He's a California liberal and will likely push more independents to conservatives. Republicans seem to be stealing a good portion of the hispanic vote as well as the young black male vote. Newsom doesn't help the dems win either of those back.

The dems are in a tough spot for 2024 with an aging Biden and no strong candidates on the bench. Kamala, Hillary, Bernie, Newsom, Abrams, Beto, Warren, Buttigeig? Any of those names spark any interest? I don't think they do.

here's the thing.

America is all about show business. America understands media and glossy, and it wants to be entertained. It doesn't want to be lectured to about policy.

Newsom can be media savvy. he looks like a movie star, is sort of glamorous and can talk. And he's young. Just 55 years old. Will look great compared to ancients trump and biden.

As for how CA has done....righties like to laugh at the place but it is a mighty colossus that has done extraordinarily well. Its economy has soared. I think most people know that - all the Rs can do is point and laugh in the shadow of its gigantic success.

Is he too liberal? Few vote on policy so I don't think that will stick. As long as he can stay away from talking about lbgtq and race/ethnic issues then he should be ok on that. Not a given, but I think he understands that he can't go all campus PC and win a national election.
