Pre-Section Finals Top 10 individuals per division in the state:
Division 1:
1. Jaelyn Williams (Eastlake): 151 (Woodbridge)
2. Braelyn Combe (Santiago): 147 (Clovis)
3. Millie Byles (Trabuco Hills): 140 (Clovis)
4. Charlotte Hopkins (Arcadia): 140 (Woodbridge)
5. Elizabeth Jacklin (MLK): 138 (IE Challenge)
6. Isabella Ramirez (Bullard): 137 (Clovis)
7. Brooklyn Buckley (Buchanan): 135 (Clovis)
8. Molly Sundgren (Buchanan): 135 (Clovis)
9. Layla Merancio (Buchanan): 135 (Woodbridge)
10. Avery Wolk (Davis): 134 (Clovis)
Note: A lot of Buchanan. We haven’t seen Hopkins in a while so I put her below Byles despite Hopkins’s Woodbridge race is speed rated slightly higher than Byles at Clovis. Will be a pretty quick and competitive race.
Division 2:
1. Aelo Curtis (Ventura): 154 (Clovis)
2. Summer Wilson (Irvine): 150 (Woodbridge)
3. Amaya Bharadwaj (Palo Alto): 148 (Clovis)
4. Isla Bulmer (Claremont): 139 (Clovis)
5. Sophie Hutchinson (Whitney): 134 (Roughrider)
6. Olivia Campos (Mt Carmel): 133 (Woodbridge)
7. Brenna Mannion (Vista Del Lago): 132 (Clovis)
8. Sydney Middleton (Redwood NCS): 132 (Clovis)
9. Sabina Cruz (Westlake): 132 (Mt Sac):
10. Arielle Avina (Murrieta Valley): 131 (Woodbridge)
Note: Will also be a pretty quick and competitive race (more on the individual side). Natalie Arriaza has a speed rating of 135 from Kim Duyst but has not raced in a while. She raced at league but was not at sub-sections so she’s out of the rankings.
Division 3:
1. Kamilah Salim (West Torrance): 140 (Clovis)
2. Alyssa Gutierrez (St. Francis SJS): 139 (Clovis)
3. Carol Dye (Santa Margarita): 135 (Clovis)
4. Gretchen Yakaitis (Carondelet): 134 (Nike Portland)
5. Ava Crocker (El Toro): 132 (Woodbridge)
6. Julie Plummer (Pleasant Valley): 132 (Clovis)
7. Alanha Thomas (Santa Margarita): 131 (Woodbridge)
8. Harper Diaz (Santana): ~129 (Mt Sac)
9. Gweneth Williams (El Toro): 128 (Woodbridge)
10. Becky Osorio (West Covina): 128 (Woodbridge)
Note: Harper Diaz’s Mt Sac race is not speed rated (final time was 17:53 flat) but the Saturday races times (similar to Diaz’s times) are rated around 127, for the Friday races you add two to the Saturday time. Solid team battle between St. Francis SJS, Santa Margarita, and El Toro.
Division 4:
1. Chiara Dailey (La Jolla): 154 (Woodbridge)
2. Brooke Lee (Archie Williams): 143 (Clovis)
3. Giselle Fernandez (Riverbank): 141 (Clovis)
4. Maya Pawlowicz (Jserra): 137 (Clovis)
5. Reese Holley (Jserra): 136 (Clovis)
6. Kaia Streadbeck (Jserra): 136 (Woodbridge)
7. Anna Villavicencio (Woodlake): 128 (Clovis)
8. Delaney Napierala (Oaks Christian): 127 (Clovis)
9. Hannah Nourse (Laguna Beach): ~126 (Mt Sac)
10. Lindsay Billotte (Classical Academy): ~126 (Mt Sac)
Note: Just like Diaz, Nourse and Billotte’s races are not speed rated. There are similar times ran on Saturday (18:02.6 and 18:04.5) and are both rated at 124, just add two to that.
Division 5:
1. Elliana Patterson (Christian): ~138 (Mt Sac)
2. Farah Allen (Branson): 137 (Clovis)
3. Ariella (Ari) Llorens (Francis Parker): ~136-137 (Mt Sac)
4. Ella Mogannam (Lick Wilmerding)??
5. Ayanna Hickey (The Bishops School): 134 (Woodbridge)
6. Amelia Sarkisian (Brentwood): 130 (Clovis)
7. Anna Salter (Crystal Springs Uplands): 127 (Clovis)
8. Josie Hill (Sonoma Academy): 123 (Roughrider)
9. Clara Riddle (Immanuel): 120 (Clovis)
10. Hailey Sellers (Branson)/Ashlin Mallon (Cardinal Newman): 119 (Clovis)
Note: Patterson and Lloren’s races were not speed rated, however comparing their times to similar times ran on the Saturday Mt Sac race and adding two to the Saturday speed ratings, I got these approximations. Mogannam is the second fastest returner D5 but they tend to lay low, she has recently ran 16:47 5k at BCL and 17:07 5k at Mariner but they are not speed rated so I have her lower but I could see her and Allen battling it during NCS and state. The same goes Allen’s teammate Sellers, who ran an 18:03 at Mariner and 17:55 3.1 miles at the MCAL (her Clovis time was around low 19:10s), she could have potential to podium.
