For those of you concerned about "oh noes how can we avoid getting in trouble if we don't know what Alberto did?"
1. Take the SafeSport training, it is free to all USATF members. If you are not a USATF member, SafeSport most likely does not apply to you, and you don't need to worry about violating the SafeSport Code.
2. Read the USATF SafeSport Handbook. The Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) is changing on January 1, 2022, and if you are USATF-member coach you really need to be familiar with them, even if you don't normally work with minors.
3. Read the SafeSport Code.
4. I have seen coaches get in trouble for things because they are stupid, not necessarily a predator. If you are a coach, you need to learn how to have appropriate boundaries with your athletes. I don't have a specific training to refer people to at this time, but seek something out if you are not good at maintaining professional boundaries.
