Erin Dawson is another one who just vanished, along with Lena Bettis. I thought Lena was with GA State but not on their site.

Honestly have no idea if coaches would qualify for unemployment if they we're let go at the end of their contract.

Talk about the AD dropping the ball on background checks! Capital hasn't had 44 All Conference athletes in the last 15 years! Someone should fill in Knox's AD. This is surely a friable offense.
mac womens javelin was strong last year - had a thrower place third in the nation - top 5 or so went to 1st round with a few other 1st round level throwers on the sideline
Gibby ended up at UNC Charlotte to replace Ed. Apparently they are in a rebuilding phase. Can he actually get a solid crew going there to rival what Herbster had?
As a division 1 coach it sickens me each year to ready the bs that former assistants, ga's, and volunteer coaches list on their resumes. Sorry to burst y'all's bubbles, but if you didn't write, administer, and coach the athlete through the actual competitions it doesn't count. Having stood next to the coach doesn't mean you were an actual part of THEIR success. I guess it further bugs me that the head coaches allow them to lie on their resumes to help them further their careers. It is time for accountability in coaches.

Maybe if you head coaches would stop recycling the same old coaches, give the up and coming coaches who have done all they could do in order to get a college gig, then maybe the lying would stop...and no this is not Randy. Do I agree with the tactic? Absolutely not. We need to use that sixth coaching slot (if your program is allowed to do so) to groom the new generation of coaches, but you all are so caught up in yourselves that most of us will never see the day. Sad!
Completely agree!!! It's unethical to claim someone else's results.
Unfortunately, when time to chose between a coach who assisted a reputable, big name school but did not actually coach, and a small program, no relevant name school where a young coach actually implemented a program and coached successfully, the first one gets the gig. SAD!!! These days, a lot if young coaches use this strategy to get ahead.
I was personally interviewed by several schools (at least 30) in the last 4-5 years but none of the interviewer asked about my training plans, strategies implemented, or other pertinent questions strictly related to the job. Most questions were personal or unrelated to the ability to coach. SAD!
Guys I agree completly. Im tired of seeing 5 coaches all claim that they coached the same all american. Event coach and head coach can list. Not volunteers,ga's, and stop watch holders.
As a DI head coach I do look to who is putting BS on their resume. If someone does that I simply throw their resume in the basket. How hard is that? And yes, I do tell the young assistant coaches who try to inflate their resume that that is why I deleted them from consideration. I almost always take a recommendation on a young coach from someone who has actually worked with them, and can see their potential. If all head coaches did this it would reduce the amount of resume inflation. And while it sounds bad without a doubt the worst offenders on the resume inflation are the sprint coaches.

Not going to stop an AD who has no idea. Fact is, the Knox AD didn't vet well.

I got fired from a sh!tty DI mid-major several years ago and got unemployment after they paid me for an extra month and a half. I was never on a contract...just employed "at will." A lot of more established coaches at Power 5's either get their contract paid out or get a decent pay-off/severance as a "please don't sue us" unless they really had just cause...which is very difficult to prove. On the flip side, coaches who want to stay in coaching usually don't sue...it's a "win/win."
