Yes it is. All workouts are written by head coach(control freak), he doesn’t want anyone to direct the athletes from a coaching standpoint. So many hoops to jump the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. The new assistant has to be thinking wth did I get myself into. Any and all recruits should steer clear of this place. It is a disaster!

I don't understand this sentiment. He is the Head Coach. Does he pretend to direct the distance athletes? It is apparent that Adler was doing that, but obviously Phillips will get credit for leading an overall successful program.
Someone said earlier that the two were having some disagreements. Ultimately the head coach is going to win out. Cowley seems to be a well funded JUCO program with good distance athletes; they have had a few DI distance transfers in the past few years (not that common for JUCO distance). Any insight on who replaces Adler?
I still maintain they need to wait until summer, unless they want an entry level coach to take over XC.

It's a well known fact Mark Phillip's expects his assistants to do all the work while he will barely recruit and bring in his pole vaulters. I know one of the candidates reached out to former assistant Vince Degrado asking about it. He coached them to a few national XC titles late 2000s I believe. He said he thought Cameron Reith was taking it. Whoever takes it will surely continue their tradition of American distance running. Dan seemed to really pride himself with that. He took alot of trash runners and made them good.

Colby's only good runners are Kenyan so I'm sure if he is hired they will play the Kenyan game. Wonder what Adler does with girls training because it obviously works. They've had a stellar girls team for a while.
Well if Cowley starts allowing internationals to live off campus with host families while they "pay rent". Up until last year it was well known fact that schools like Colby and Cloud did that regularly which is illegal especially if somebody followed the money where it came from. Cloud proved (Harrys) money cant buy Championships you still need to coach them up. I know Cameron is a good up and coming coach so he'll continue Alders success and give schools like Butler, Hutch and Allen troubles. Alders system definitely worked but his mens middle distance runners did great this as well, he figured something out.

Already had other top male recruit transfer out. Soph shot putter threw 68ft with college implement in high school and was the number 3 sophmore at the meet. Rumor is he is now looking at transferring .

Man, I have never heard a nice word about this guy. Kids seem to love him during the recruiting process then get to know the "real" coach once they sign and show up. Seems like everyone is looking for a way out after they see the truth.
Nah. It's all trolls knocking him. He is a good guy and does a good job. It's not easy taking elite guys on these days... They all have their former coaches / training systems and don't always mesh with the system in place. Social media just makes it far worse.... Everyone is a Guru online... Hate it. Miss the old days of trusting the coach/system and going with it - working hard - no distractions - having fun. Those days are long gone...
word on the street at the NCAA indoor meet is that there will be 0 power 5 openings this spring and summer. Those folks looking to move up from their miserable mid major and DII positions will have to wait another year. No shuffling to be expected...
