Oh no, this is not a good start, I got four lines down of Amy's Wikipedia entry and came across this:

"She was also inspired by Larry Macon, who ran across all 50 U.S. states, desiring to run in all the major cities of the United Kingdom."

Edit the total length of her marathons while you're at it. Says "a total of 1,400 miles (2,300 km)" - 53 x 26.2 = 1,388.6 miles.

OMG, that is hilarious! Amy Hughes actually said the BBC she was "inspired" by Larry Macon. Not a good role model!

According to my Garmin we only ran 24 miles an a bit of the full 26.2 planned for her. She was using Run Keeper on her phone, "I think anyway". Intensions are in the right place but it's either her planning or the planning of the people in her team that let her down.

Definitely British. I assume the farmers mile guy is in his 70s or 80s, I don't know anyone who speaks like that.

Amazes me that someone can run 500 miles in a week but can't even be bothered to do one race all year.

Not sure where she got all those medals from.

She's been updating her races at least.

I think her 2016 marathon completely invalidates any chance of this record being legit.

520 miles = 74.28 per day.

If she sticks to this marathon pace, it will take her 12 hours and 51 minutes every day.

So basically 13 hours of marathon paced running, for 7 days straight, for someone with no history of ultrarunning.

Is that believable to anyone?

thats not how it works apparently.

now that the claim has been made Amy needs to prove that it didnt happen.

In that care I heard that Amy thought 26.2m meant 26.2 metres.

She claims to have run 18-20 hours a day in her treadmill WR attempt.

You mean you don't have to run 26.2 miles in one run, you can split up a marathon over multiple runs? Wow, I've ran 2 marathons a week over the last four years! Does anyone have GWR contact number?
