Ashton May heat sheets are up, 1500 looks good. Oles, Eau Claire guys, Linner, Pederson, and more. However, it appears to be snowing across the Midwest. This meet actually going to happen?

Break out the arm sleeves, boys!

With LaMere cranking out a 28:38, (14:32, 14:06 splits) does this mean no one else has a chance, barring injury or any other freak thing, in the 5k and 10k. Does Thorson try his luck in the 1500 against Marquardt and Escher, or stay fresh for the 5k? Should be some good racing regardless. Will the Oles be racing the 5k at uwp again? That could be an all-timer with LaMere, Thorson, Campbell all trying to run fast.
Well now LaMere is on record saying he wants to run 13:50 next week. That's about the same pace as what he ran for a 3K in January, but he's undoubtedly in better shape than he was then. With a 14:06 second half of the 10K it might be realistic. Is Thorson running this? He's got to be thinking sub 14 as well. I'd expect Campbell to try and hang with them, but he's probably not quite ready for that hot of a pace.

Call me crazy, but I think there is a very real possibility of Thorson beating LaMere

OK, you're crazy. Seriously, I wouldn't rule out Thorson beating Lamere at Pville but Lamere seems to be taking it to a level I'm not sure Thorson can reach. Not sure if Lamere will be fully recovered from Stanford but he should be close to 100%.

800: Mitch Black because why not
1500: Campbell, Marquardt, Escher because might as well be edgy. Jamie Norton could contend, I hear he runs the mile in 4:06, which converts to 3:48. If he could qualify with a 3:49, that would be solid, but not quite as good as his 4:06 mile PR, which is 4:06.
5k: Thorson, LaMere, Hale because LaMere is good, but no way he runs away from a fresh Thorson, even if he solos 13:55. Thorson gives great and insightful post-race interview and makes the interviewer (guy or girl, doesn't matter) blush with his perfect hair and facial bone structure.
10k: Ian LaMere goes out with the pack, breaks away 1k in, pauses around 6k to help a kid tie his shoe, stops at 8k to inspire some kids with stories about how running saved him from the abysmal fate of living in Platteville for four years, poops his pants at 9600, and still wins by a minute. Dawson Miller for second, tall Claremont Mudd-Scripps guy for third because I guess they run outdoor.
Yup because the runner up in the 10k at NCAAs last year (by .01 seconds!) probably won't contest for a title again.
damn hes pissed ^
Seeing as he picked Dawson Miller for second, my guess is you don't need to be too worried about this one, Bijan.
But for real, 28:38 (14:06 close)? Good luck to anyone who thinks they have a remote chance to hang with that.
Some fast times on the board now in the 15. I can't tell if Paul doesn't care as much during non championship races or if he just find an extra f to give when he's running for a big one. I just realized today that his 6th place finish at xc nats was his highest of the season. Anyone know why Thorson wasn't in attendance? Hopefully he had to miss because he had scheduled a hair cut and couldn't move it around.

Peter Hale from Williams? What? Dijon Mustard and Colin Cotton are from the same team who should be considered before him. He hasn't even broken 14:40.
I'd say Lamere and Thorson way out front, with a solid pack behind. Cotton and Mazaheri will be in the mix with Vazquez for third.
Peter hale grew a man bun this year which should drop 30 seconds off his 5k time

Ah, my signature style. Never looks bad.

My guess is he's getting ready for the 5k this Friday at Platteville.

I may be missing something but from all the results on the Olaf page it looks like Campbell has gone undefeated to Escher in xc, indoor, and now the first outdoor race. If Campbell runs the 1500 vs the 5000m I think there is a good chance Olaf could snag the top 2 spots at nationals
Watch when this actually happens. The kid looked solid indoors.
The Hale thing is serious. He was fourth in the 3k, and I think he is a fun, fairly realistic pick for third. Call him a dark horse if you want
Enough with ur 5k predicts! How about the 800/1500!??!?!?!
I call...
800: Clay, kids a stud. Has dipped under 1:51 already, hasn't been posted up on tfrrs though. His PB on tfrrs is 2:16, but that was just a workout
1500: As you all know, WIAC is a powerhouse conference. IM CALLING ALEC BOES FROM WIS-STOUT. He'll outkick any kid out in the field given he has the open lane, better watch out Escher. WIAC has no idea what this kid is about
Clay... as in Clay Martin.
