Heard about a guy who would run this televised race in boulder every year under the name Paul Ahammi. He would go out super hard for the first couple miles (it was a half-marathon I think) so that the cameras would be on him, then he'd fake like he pulled his hamstring. The announcers would be like, "and it looks like Paul Ahammi has pulled a hammy."
Brilliant. What a legacy.

God'sgift Onyekachi Achiuwa ... born in Port Harcourt, River States, Nigeria ... son of Eunice and Donatus Achiuwa, a minister ... the third of six children ... has an older sister, Grace, and a younger sister, Peace ... also has an older brother, Promise, and two younger brothers, God'swill and Precious ... chose St. John's because of its religious attributes and basketball success ... majoring in administrative studies.

This is not a fake name to use for a race, but rather an embarrassingly sophomoric, yet somehow satisfyingly humorous, idea for a 5k race once told to me (after a few adult beverages, I believe). The race is sponsored by a strip club and the lead car would simply be a flat-bed truck with stripper poles welded to it; of course there would be a few of the fine employees of the adult entertainment venue working on said truck. The name of the race? The "T&A 5K"
