It was a mistake. Nothing to do with intelligence.
You know, I've brought up Michael Phelps indiscretions of DUI's and weed use and no one has challenged those posts. I'm wondering why.
oh look, phelps saying he was stupid when he smoked weed.
I think if we called richardson's error a 'stupid mistake' instead of calling her stupid there would be less controversy, bt that's a fine line.
Lauer asked Phelps directly, “Were you smoking pot?”
Phelps did not answer that question, instead saying, “It was a bad mistake. I mean, we all know what you and I are talking about. It's a stupid mistake. "
lochte calling phelps 'dumb'
it's not racist to call these athletes stupid when they do stupid things.
(but sure again, the distinction between being stupid and making stupid mistakes)

Ryan Lochte has hit out at Michael Phelps for bringing his sport into disrepute - but insists his rival is "like family" and deserves his criticism.
Phelps was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol before immediately issuing a apology.
When asked if he was concerned for his Team USA team-mate, Lochte said: "I'm not concerned - he just makes dumb decisions."
