Who's this Hussman guy? What kind of fund is this? If I'm an investor for the long term, I'm just gonna give my money to Vanguard or BlackRock to throw in bonds and equities. If the market tanks then I trust they'll be able to move stuff around quickly enough so I don't lose like 10%.

Check out his writing, he is quite interesting. You are destined to lose more than 10%, especially in index funds. I am pretty confident Hussman’s performance in 2018 is outdistancing your attempts to jockey this market.
