What happened to Kim Graham- Miller? Is she going back to UC Davis possibly as head coach?

Mark Macdonald from WSU was hired at Oregon State...should be announced today.

Carl Lewis hired at Houston full time.

Kim left a year ago It's Tim Vaught that replace her.

Vaught is no longer listed on the website. What the hell is going on now? Garner was hired in july of 2013 and this will be the third coach he has hired for sprint and hurdles.

It is so funny how most of you don't get it. Coaching is a great job 10% of the time, the rest of the time it SUCKS! The fuses of these so-called "great young coaches" are getting shorter and shorter and the tolerance less and less for the lifestyle. Yes, I speak from experience, 9 years before I pulled the ripcord.

My guess is he's going to Clemson where a position just opened up.

Could be (I don't know any different) but look at the career record-Western Carolina athlete, Coastal Carolina 2x, UNCC, FSU and is from North Carolina.

My friend runs at Long Beach State, and he said the team was told by the head coach that they would have a new distance coach by this weekend. He said they are deciding between two people. No names were given, and there are no rumors going around that I know of.

Since most colleges started cross country in mid August, we are now 25% into the season. I hope my buddy has a coach at LBST soon.

Doubtful HR will let the new coach start a soon as the head coach make the announcement.

Typically once a candidate accept the offered position there is a background check which takes a few days, and new employee orientation.

All the while, unlike coaches who work late nights and most weekends, HR employees at state institutions work 9-5, M-F.

Even though the Head Coach is making an announcement this weekend, Your friend may not have a working cross country coach for a few more week!

Wrong... Coach can start right away. Some coaches are put on salary before they even leave their current school and start recruiting right away and coaching as soon as they step in town.

Ya, generalizations can't really be made when it comes to HR type stuff. Since there are so many different nuances with the animal of the hiring process to begin with. Some private schools processes are really different then public. In an emergency situation policies will be bent here and there as long as their eventually taken care of. But a coach being in place this weekend for a meet where they don't know any of the runners, their abilities, tendencies etc. would be more of an introduction for that coach and a chance for him/her to get acquainted with the team...really quickly. As we have seen with many jobs people get brought in and there wasn't even a formal announcement of the job, or there are internal announcements and no one ever really sees the job posting..like air force sprints or air force distance. I know its the US services so that's an entirely different beast but just an example.

Illinois - Sprints/hurdles

Iowa - Throws

Oregon State - Throws

Buffalo - Jumps

Arizona State - hurdle putter upper, stopwatch carrier

Air force assistant distance? My guess they need a female?
