Frank Meza 2:53:10 at LA Marathon (70 years old) unofficial time (just finished)

Does anyone see Frank in this video, because I don’t. He finished in 3:01 flat for 3rd place overall, and 1:49 gun time differential.

Someone who can explain exactly how he did it would be proof. GPS data or picture of him getting on a bike, in or out of a vehicle would be proof. Frankie should take his disappearing act to Vegas.

Did you realize that the video shared by some very savvy posters doesn't show him running and stopping to stretch, but only him "ENTERING" the course after appearing from the sidewalk, THEN stretching?

If there was no video of him standing on the side, you'd say provide video of him entering from off the course, give me something. Now you want video of him on a bike (of a guy who has been DQ'd before and set an age world record while hanging out on a corner). If that was provided in the the near future, you'd say you used it to bike to a nearby public restroom because he didn't want to get a ticket for peeing in public.

If he was getting "rides to the bathroom", which is BS, he'd have lost 10-15 minutes throughout the entire race, not possible and an ignorant theory that wouldn't hold water for any "normal" thinking person (please stay off public Jurys, thank you).

I know that he cheated and the most logical way is a bike or a car unless you know of a stealth drone that could carry his body weight. With or without an accomplice doesn't matter to me at this point, he cheated.

You need to actually SEE him on a bike, I don't. If he had ran the whole way, you'd have seen him in the video ON the course and not standing there for minutes, yes minutes, then entering from the side, but you don't. Surely you can tell by his body mass and leg turnover that he's minutes better than Dykes or the late and great Whitlock, right?

To average that pace for 26.2 miles, which he didn't, do realize how fast his 5k, 10k and 13.1 mile races would be? Yes, they do interlink in distance races.

The accusations are not emotionally biased, except perhaps to you, being a buffoon and all. You are NOT playing devil's advocate or even remotely close to that. You are posting nonsense at best. You are NOT using sound reasoning but are making up implausible scenarios that mimic fairy tale stories.

GPS data is not needed as there is overwhelming proof that cannot be disputed, period.

This isn't a court of law. After enough evidence of cheating is provided, the burden of proof is solidly on Frank. It would not be difficult to prove his innocence. He could:

- Provide GPS data

- Run a marathon with a witness

- Invite people to join him in a workout. 10 miles at sub-7 pace.

- Run a local 5k at marathon pace, with a witness

Of course, the last two would not prove innocence, but would go a long ways.

The thing is, even without any more DQ’s or any broader publicity, Frank’s charade is over.

Think about either of them now ... knowing what people see when they google their name. Knowing that any person with a modicum of running knowledge know they are a cheat and then lied when exposed.

Like M.R., Frank will never run another race in the open. Personally, I don’t think any more “blood” is required. The inability to admit only makes them seem even more pathetic.

Going back to the point about Frank's physical build. It's perhaps superficial but I think it carries validith. I've run marathons, a dozen or so, in the 2:50s and nearly everyone including myself are not carrying much weight. But there are exceptions and I've seen guys with a slightly heavier build knock out quick times.

However, Frank is quoted as saying he was running 100 mile weeks in training. At that level I would be expecting a stature like Gene or Ed Whitlock. It's a serious amount of calories being burnt. If someone is genuinely running a 100mpw it shows in their physique, it screams at you.

Frank just screams cheat! And a multiple one at that. This is just a minor point compared the hugely damning evidence already discussed.

To seasoned runners it is obvious, to even have had a single official DQ like Frank is almost unheard of to established runners and would be hugely embarassing. I think non-runners require a higher level of evidence, this thread has made his guilt unequivocal.

That makes a lot of sense. I was guessing he was writing them on his arm or something, but a piece of paper inside a clear plastic pouch on a lanyard makes a lot more sense. This guy sure does like his lanyards, though. If you look at his photos back in the D-tag days, he was lowering his D-tag on a lanyard over the timing mats.

You haven't seen any 60 years and older, carrying his sort of flab, running style and recording 2:50 plus marathons.

Can confirm, even looking at 20 minutes for 5k, the over 60 men I know who can do that are very thin even by club runner standards.

Quite a few people have reputations on the line if they are implicated in Frank's cheating.

Going by LHS Head Coach Diaz comments to Derek Murphy he's already feeling the heat, me speculating:

If it can be shown any of his friends or family members were complicit or suspicious of him they're going to feel the heat too, just how hot depends on their level of involvement.

And yes, The Three Bandito Doctors are relevant to this thread, they must have known and it also appears they scammed a children's charity half marathon, no bibs strongly indicates no money paid to enter and run, this also indicates suspect scruples so why wouldn't they assist/suspect/know about Frank's cheating. Also, Frank had some involvement, he cheated and then gave his bib to one of them to finish with, why?
