Go to the Medina Ohio court dockets page and do a search for Kevin Kelly. He was convicted and sentenced to 6 months in prison. No dirty details though.

Doesn't state much. Although, this guy appears to be screwed.

Not sure how much I trust a site called "Bailbondcity" that posts more personal information than is needed for bookings without explanation of why it's posted. The information looks accurate but it seems like it is a bail bondsman extorting jailed people to get them to pay them to remove your mugshot from their site.

1. The criminal charge has absolutely nothing to do with him cheating. There is already proof this guy cheated at marathons and no proof he ran 100 in 100 days. He also ran legitimate marathons before and after his criminal conviction further showing it means nothing in this discussion.

2. He actually said he ran 98 marathons and the 100 miles over the last 2 days would be 99 and 100.

Yes, and no. I don't want to destroy anybodies life but I do find the people who do this sort of thing fascinating. People who plan and commit fraud are an interesting group of people and within that group of people are some pretty interesting subsets. The cheating runner thing has become even more interesting with the explosion of social media and all of the positive and negative things that have come with that.

Long story short - I don't think that someone who does what this guy did is normal. I actually would have thought he'd have some problems with the law in his background, so to me it does make sense when you look into these people they have criminal records. Look at Rossi, his cheating is all part of a pretty messed up dude.

There is a story in the story. This will make a great case study on how not to promote yourself as being a social media expert.

I suggest people go to the go fund me website where this guy panhandled his fake cause and got $5600 out of people. $5600 on the premise that he was doing this to help charities. Then take a look around that site at some of the really seriously sad cases - car wreck victims, kids with horrific illnesses and huge medical bills, etc etc. People who are 1 million times more deserving of charity and support than this fraud. People whose lives are legitimately ruined, financially, physically, emotionally through no fault of their own. Kids who will never have a chance to grow up, families who will be bankrupt from medical bills.

And then think about this guy and cry me a G.D. river about his life being ruined.

I thought he was pretty clear that the money donated was going to him and not the charities. He said his donation to the 100 charities was that he would promote them for the day.

My take on it, he did something morally wrong and reprehensible with the importuning and served his time. But wait, he did something else morally wrong and reprehensible with this charity scam of fraud, cheating, lying, etc, so of course he also deserves to be outed for his previous. He had his chance to get on with his life in the morally correct way but chose not to so now he's reaping what he sowed.

Same goes for the other fraudster Charrize Cindy Avendano who holds a degree and job in fraud detection and committed frauds, OK so only running cheating and fraud, but still fraud from someone who should know better, does she deserve a break.

Where's the line?, sooner or later these people have to become responsible and accountable for their own actions, no good blaming others for bringing it to the attention of the masses, the internet and social media are double edged swords, you chose to live by it you die by it.
