2 transfers? Vista had 4 (Edwards, Frum, Guiberson, Jorde) at NXN 2024. Someone also posted in another thread that Adams used to live in California until she was 13 years old
At NXN 2023 they also had transfer Combe
This is true! So many transfers. I wonder if this contributed to Dalby leaving. He worked hard to build a program from the ground up, then transfers come they win, but not because of him? Who knows? I do think they have a good thing going this year. They still have talent, 2 scorers from last year's team. 1 scorer from the 2023 team is still there, and they seemed to have a very fast JV squad that is getting overlooked by a lot of rankings. While rankings don't really matter now. It could make for some disappointment for the teams that believe they are better than they are. Soon we will all know more. But I can say that running XC races in Colorado is VERY different than California, so the times aren't always what they appear on paper. Additionally I think the SW has performed very well and over achieved projections at NXN. However it shakes out, it will be fun!
Lone Peak got two transfers who will be contenders to take over scoring spots among their already very strong returning girls. It will be a dog fight among very fast girls to even make top seven now, and no matter how it shakes out, their #7 spot will be around an 18:30 or faster.
Barring disaster, now with these two transfers added, I don’t see how anyone stops them this year.
Not impressed with the Herriman girls...so they are running 20 minute 5ks? Is this supposed to be national ranking?
We’ll see what they run at sea level (Woodbridge and NXR)
Woodbridge is a joke....I know the kids love it, but after they changed the course mid meet a couple of years ago to get faster times they should lose ALL credibility.

Yes how dare any coaches take their teams to a meet that kids love! They should throw them in jail for such a crime.
The MileSplit50 Preseason Girls XC National Rankings are here. Follow along as we count down the Top 25 teams heading into the 2025 cross country season.
It's funny that they include Brenna Jorde in the IMG stats. She runs for Mountain Vista. It just goes to show how out of touch the people are that create rankings. If your team isn't where you believe they are, don't let a ranking define your team.

And Williams (who moved to TX) is still in the Trabuco Hills stats.
NY - Projected Top 5 Teams from Returners' Last Year's TR Ratings (Compression in Parentheses)
Bethlehem 122.4 (28)
Shenendehowa 118.8 (30)
Saratoga 114.0 (19)
Northport 111.6 (46)
Guilderland 108.2 (40)
First 2 teams are nationally ranked on every national rankings. 4 of these 5 teams are all in the same section (state qualifying meet) and only one of them gets to go to the state meet.

NYSPHSAA needs to retire the intersectional concept of the state meet. Whoever wins Section 2 Class A is going to have a walk over the next week at state since they will probably eliminate four of other top five teams in the state. There should be at least 3-5 at large teams and about 15-20 at large individuals selected across the state between all classes. That way the strong A schools in Section 2, strong schools C and D schools in Section 3, and what ever other sections/classes that have multiple quality teams or individuals can get these deserving kids to the state meet.
And this is very doable. I don't think any class has more than 150 kids in a race. 1-2 extra teams and 5-6 extra individuals won't overcrowd any race.
Those top teams in Section 2 that don't make the NYSPHSAA meet get an extra week to prepare for Federation/NXR. So you can debate how fair or unfair that is certain teams.
