Dear Henry -
I just finished reading my boyfriend's Runner's World magazine and had tears in my eyes after I read the article about you. Before I read this article I didn't know anything about you. You are an amazing human being who has had quite an interesting, enthralling life. I wish you the best and hope all of your dreams, running and otherwise, come true.
At the same time, I am not an elite athlete at all and cannot give you anything but what Muhammed Ali said: "Never, ever, ever let "them" take all of your power; always keep a bit of yourself reserved for you, because I am all that I have." "Them" means the press, the kids you teach at school, your coaches, your competitors, these people on this blog, your loved ones, your training goals, et cetera. You have done some amazing athletic achievements that I cannot even comprehend how you attained them. But you will aways be Henry Rono no matter how fast you run or do anything else.
You seem like an amazing, disciplined, sensitive, endearing person. I have had to deal with similar issues as far as understanding my emotions and keeping them under control. Believe it or not, yoga and drawing classes (drawing from real life, not abstract stuff) help enormously and get me in touch with what I'm really feeling, to live in the present, and to reach my goals.
So many people and I are cheering for you and are behind you. Please take it one step at a time and go the distance. If you make your goals, great. If not, that's okay too. You will always be Henry Rono. Please take care of yourself and
God bless you,
Lianne

Thank you and thank you

Hi again, Henry.
I'm glad this thread is back... thanks, Weldon.
Not only that, but it seems that a number of negative posts that originally had been deleted have reappeared... thanks, moderators.
I was reading back over some of the earlier posts... Henry, you mentioned something about running a track meet in Albuquerque on July 6th; did you run? If not, when is your next race?
I haven't read the article in Runner's World yet, but it sounds like it's a good one.
We're eagerly awaiting the book.
Please keep postive, Henry.

Hi Henry,
I read the article about you in Runnersworld. You are an amazing runner. It is also incredible how you overcame alcoholism. Its good to hear that you are well. I am a highschool XC and track runner. good luck with your training.
Mr. Rono
I'm new on this website,(so I hope I'm posting the correct way) but I had to come on just to send you a message. I wanted to say that after reading the article on you in Runner's World I have become a huge fan.
As a highschool runner struggling with whether Im running for myself or for my coach I was inspired by your story and how you seem to run for the love of it and not for anyone except yourself.
Good luck in all you do, and the master's world record you talked about? keep going for it. I believe you will get it.

Evening section was very short today for just 30 minutes. I felt so tired plus 20 minutes sauna, I called a day.

Yeah! I read the article and it is a long one and entertaining.Wait and see 'Olympic Dream' not Dreams as it is written in the magazine.
It is very entertaining book coming out in few weeks.

Henry,
I am probably not the first to say this but thank you for sharing your story. Your ability to inspire us, as a runner and human being is amazing. I wish you the best of luck and am looking forward to meeting you at my cross country camp in a few weeks.
Henry:
Do you think everyone should start off a new training cycle by running for 2 hours daily for a few weeks?
Thank you

Even though Henry can answer for himself, I can already tell you that what works for one guy might not work for another.
We\'re all built differently, so not everyone will respond to a method of training the same way.
