got it back up.
got it back up.
Thanks, Weldon!
Even though Henry has not been making any progress with his running lately, he's been a really good coach. He took one of his runners, Michael Abonyi, from a 2:32 800 to a 2:16 800 in less than 2 months!
That's really impressive considering that he was only 13 years old, and that 2:16 800 got him a state championship title.
yeah, for thread back up.
Go Henry, GO!!!
How's training?

Yeah! It is great to get back on thread again.
Thanks Wejo.
On Wednesday 20 minutes Saunas + 20 minutes whilrpool + 20 minutes swiming pool depleted my running powers out of me. The all day yesterday and today sitting on the bed.I thought I was treating my quads but I was sucking the energy out of the quads.
I am sitting here and eating monkey coconut from the indian reservation.I heard this will take away the beer belly.I can feel it in the head and belly now as we speak, yeah it works.Yeah I try anything to lose weight why not.
I am basically eating like a cow and resting now to acquire more powers for upcoming racing.

Henry , are you entered and still planning to run in this meet?
here is a link to world masters champs website

you don't have to qualify, you just pay the entry fee and turn up. i think that the entry deadline has passed already though

Monkey coconut? I've never heard anything about that.
The only thing that I know of that will take away the beer belly is to eat less.
What do you mean when you say that you are "eating like a cow"?

After finishing monkey coconut, I will look alot better, instead of heavy weight wresler.
Henry
I believe! I believe! Where can I get some magic coconut milk? I need to lose about 50 lbs. I always thought coconut milk was high in calories.
Henry,
I don't think that you need a coach, but I do think that you need a nutritionist or dietician to help you to lose weight. I don't know what your weight is right now, but it sounds as though you stopped losing weight a few months ago. There is no way that you, or anyone else, can possibly run well while carrying 35 extra pounds.
To Avocados Number
I mean I eat simply as a cow do.Not funcy food that is what it means.I try to eat as human, I get beer belly. I try this and that, to a point of no ending, before I know my stomach is getting bigger and the biggest of all runners in the world.
I hope you get my point.

Going to restate my earlier post:
1. Fast (don't eat) for 20 hours once (or maybe twice) a week.
2. Go to a vitamin store and get an intestinal cleanser and follow the directions. ***Note*** You will feel extremely drained during your workouts during this process, but it's definitely worth it.
3. (New) Just read a VERY good book, called Nutrient Timing, authors are named Ivy and Portman. After your workouts, if you drink a soda (I'm not kidding) and take the recommended protein, your leg injuries may get much better.
One day at a time - every day get a little better.
I think I get what Henry is saying. At first when he said 'eat as a cow" does, I, for some reason, thought that meant to eat a lot. But now I see he means to eat very simply. I guess cow's just eat a lot of grass.
Good job Henry. If you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and cut back on the meat, I'm sure you'll be back to racing weight quickly.

Ha! Ha! you got the point fruits and veges are the food for me and cut back on the human being food.
Thank you
Henry
Henry: what's going on with the comeback? I expected to see you in racing results this summer, but it seems that this thread has been 'quiet' the last couple of months. How about an update on things, for your fans?

The 400 day of training phase II. I ran for 66 minutes in the copper hills. This is morning run with the high school youngsters. The are very fast on the flat, but I get them in the hill repeats.
Do you know why the thread is quiet? Because we want to listen to an athlete feeling's,then push it again. We are in a low swing key for now before I hit high swing gear.I know you can wait for the top gear.It is on the way coming. The world go wild again, but my runners are doing great! It is just me that I'm in the low key, watching and listing to this old body.

Henry: I am glad that you have temporarily backed off of the pressurized push to make it back to the top, in the masters division. The leg injuries and problems getting and staying healthy a couple of months ago, were really holding you back. I think it is good that you have slowed down the last month and are giving your strained hamstring and other aches and pains a chance to heal. But, make sure you don't start gaining weight. You worked too hard to go from 220 to 175 the past year, and while I know that your ultimate weight goal is 150 +/-, you sure don't want to put more weight on now while you are letting yourself heal. God's speed to you sir! We hope to hear from you soon! (that your injuries are healed and you are ramping up the training again).
Cross training, Henry.
That is the only way you will lose the extra weight.
Here is one of my athletes:
Weight before cross training - 190
Weight after 6 months of cross training - 160
My athletes who want to lose weight go on the exercise bike twice a day for 45"minutes per session (total 1.5 hours a day).
They can do this at home if they have an exercise bike at home.
Exercise bike is more efficient for losing weight and gaining fitness for masters athletes, because master athletes are limited to low mileage-running, because of injuries.
Diet: Henry - if you have not already done so - you should try to revert to a 'Kenyan diet' - that is, natural foods with no desserts and sugars, and predominantly 'ugali' with some meat and vegetables.
coach:
The evening training was great 20 minutes warm up then serious drills for 15 minutes this one makes you sweat like pig.You know runners never take drills very seriously as other sports.Well in my evening work out it is going to very important plus speed work out.My weight will come down very fast.
Ugali!!! Ugali!!! green vegetables with potatoes along with ribbs soups.
YOU ARE RIGHT. MASTER ATHLETES ARE REDUCE TO SHORT DISTANCES WORK OUT IN THE MORNING AND I AGREE WITH YOU.
Take care.
Henry
