don't ask, don't tell. I am selling hope and potential, not actual results.

It is time to say RIP to the "Henry Rono training for masters mile record" thread. It appears that Henry has lost interest with the injuries and not enough discipline to lose weight. It was fun while it lasted. (the dream)
yes, it does appear that Henry has lost his focus and interest in this comeback. It was perhaps harder than he thought it would be. Oh well. I still wish him luck with his life, career path and health and hope he keeps running for his health and well being.
this thread and its subject are currently DOA....nothing to see here anymore, move along.....(but of course, any post that isn't a kiss-ass thread gets deleted).

You don't know why ? You must be joking. You are eating way too much food. No mystery there. If you just ate 'normal' with the amount of running that you 'say' you are doing, you would have lost that 25 lbs by now.
the subject of this thread seems to be dead. This summer was supposed to be the "summer of Rono" back on the national racing scene. It hasn't happened. And from the cryptic, sporatic, nonsensical posts from Henry, lately, it doesn't sound like it is going to happen. That's OK, we still love and admire HR. May his life, going forward be a positive light to the world and may Henry find peace and contentment. Good luck in life Henry. Keep moving forward!
WHAT IS UP with this thread? It keeps regressing and good posts keep getting deleted with only the boring or ass-kissing posts left up. Is Henry racing or have anything to report or not? Every time someone inquires, they get deleted. Sounds like the kind of censorship one would get on the internet in China, Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, etc....what's up?
I was wondering, since I haven't really seen anything on this thread in the past month, if you are still planning on competing in the World Masters Championships in Sept.
Also, have you raced or done any time trials in the past month or have anything scheduled?
Have you got your weight down under 160lbs yet?
yeah, what's up with that? Haven't really heard anything about the comeback lately?

Try something like Ultimate Cleanse or some other cleansing program/product.
This is very important, especially losing weight and cleansing out all the toxic waste from the past. The one below is my favorite.

I feel sad for Henry - all these months and months of training doing 2-3 hours per day, and still being way overweight (170 pounds for 5.8 height) is sad.
Henry - you should stop doing the junk miles - they are obviously not doing anything for your weight loss.
1. Cross training. You will burn much more calories doing a combination of running, cycling and swimming - because you will be using all the muscles in your body. Presently your training pace of 8-9 minutes miling or slower is doing little to solicit the furnace of your body which should burn the energy you use.
2. Obviously a problem with diet. You need to see a dietecian and have her/him put you on a plan. You need to be honest with yourself. If you are really doing 2-3 hours exercise per day, and still weigh as much as you do - it means you are eating more than you are burning! With 90 percent of the population - if they were exercising as much as you and eating sensibly - they would melt and look like Paul Tergat.
3. Forget the speedwork on the track - where did it get you? A 6:24 mile.....when I saw the video of you running that time - I felt sad for you. No form, no pace - no indication that you were once a superb runner.
Please forgive me if I am blunt in my assessment, but I train a lot of people - including former overweight people, and with just 45 minutes to 60 minutes a day of cross training, they have ALL lost weight, and improved their running times.
I am training a guy who was 220 pounds two years ago. Now he is down to 160 - and he runs 34 minutes for 10km. His running background was just jogging a couple of times a week. But he ate the wrong food and did not do the right training. And there are many others.
I wish you luck, but Henry, you should be prepared to change what you are doing, because it is not paying off as it should.

I was thinking to train down hill. What do you think of that? You know, I have been training hill climbing for many years.I train downhill, perhaps that would compansate my muscles. This is why my running nature is asking for.I have been trying the whole world in this running legs. But I have not try to run down hill fast.Yeah! my speed will come from there.4:40 minutes a mile record.
Henry
Don't train downhill! you will get injured!

Hello again, Henry!
Someone awhile back said something like "Have a nice trip in Kenya."
Have you gone/are you going back home?
I think he is now being flipant with us. I've put too much thought, prayer, advice and caring into this already. I think I will step back, like Avacado and others have and just let Henry 'do what he will' and hope for the best.
sounds like a good plan, Henry. See you at the World Masters Championships in Sept.
quit kissing Henry's ass, Mr. Moderator. You are not helping him in any way by deleting any post that isn't a 'praise Henry' post. He needs a dose of reality. You are not helping him move ahead. You are an 'enabler' in a negative sense.
it sounds like you have given up on the serious comeback. sorry to hear it; but you have still made alot of progress in your life, through this comeback. keep the positive thoughts flowing. good luck in your life, Henry!
