Yeah, I’m positive they were hit by Ukraine forces. Russia’s “go to” is always a lie.
I think it is far worse if they accidentally sunk there own ship. Let’s go with that.
One thing we know is the Russians lost a marquis ship.
And Russian incompetence seems involved.
We can't trust the Russians to present an unbiased account, but it is still doubtful the Ukrainians managed to get their Neptune anti-ship rocket system operational.
Given the sinking occurred barely a day after the UK announced supplying the Ukraine with anti-ship weapons, my guess this is it was sunk using a British-supplied missile. And possibly with direct assistance from British secret forces as the UDF would not be trained in its use.
If so, this could be a dangerous escalation.
Do you have any evidence to back up your conjecture that Ukraine using their Neptune missile system is doubtful? My understanding is that they’ve had a system at their training facility for around a year. I know you are loathe to give the Ukrainians the benefit of the doubt while bending over backwards to do so for Russia. Is that because you don’t like Ukrainians, or just really like Russians?
Yup, second most corrupt nation in Europe. The most corrupt? Russia. So, if you really want to talk about a sh*thole country, pick the biggest sh*thole -- Russia.
Anyway you slice it, Ukraine is a corrupt Kleptocracy and has been for a long time.
Depending on who and when you ask, it's somewhat worse or better than Russia - but the rule of law is there is that there is none... it's alien to most of us.
"but the rule of law is there is that there is none" -- are you talking about Ukraine or Russia? Because it was not my experience while in Ukraine back in 2014. I've never seen a reason to visit Russia, and see even less reason to now.
Russophobic warmongers in this thread seem to be presenting all the arguments for killing people.
Goes something like this. Ukrainians got killed. So we have to kill Russians. Lots. More the better. Rip up the rules of war and rip'em a new one.
Anyone who disagrees, we'll smear endlessly with pious, angry, accusatory posts.
If you call out hypocrisy, we'll just call it 'whataboutism' and continue to look the other way.
You claim moral high ground, while defending execution and torture of prisoners.
One poster, word for word, stated "The only good Russian is dead Russian".
You bragged about how, in Boston, problems are handled with violence.
Pretty good, but a little innacurate about my point of view. Also, erasing a portion my post points to your weakness.
- I don't agree with marching into Russia and killing civilians. Someone else said that. Not me. Yes, I am absolutely in favor of wiping out invading soldiers.
- You are calling out hypocrisy. Not me.
- Yes, I value a child over an invading soldier. Just like I value a puppy over a mosquito.
- That wasn't me, keep digging.
- Yes, if your Russian boys ever invaded Boston looking to kill innocent citizens they would be met with nothing but fire. I'm glad that made an impression on you.
Anything else? Keep defending the baby killers.
What is going on in Ukraine is horrific. It will likely go down as the crime of the century. I still can't believe people are arguing it's a non issue etc. It's a catastrophe, without helping Ukrainians fight back, it would have been Rwanda x 2 in scope and the next war would cost a lot more than a few javelins.
You guys should find another argument for killing people other than the whataboutism movement.

I think you've oversimplified a few pieces. Ukrainophobic / NATOphobic warmongers in Russia decided to invade another country resulting in tens of thousands of deaths and billions (trillions?) of dollars in damage. The only way this is going to end is when enough Russian soldiers die that they cannot continue to field an army, or somebody decides it's time for Putin to develop a terminal case of lead poisoning. So, yes. In a simplistic way, because Russia decided to kill Ukrainians, many Russians are going to have to die. But, that level of sophomoric reasoning is beneath you. It's not beneath carmine. But, you're capable of better.

And this is one good reason why Ukraine was, prior to the invasion, decades away from actually joining NATO -- this structural corruption and its concomitant relatively low ranking on the democracy index (Ukraine last year didn't qualify as a "flawed democracy," but a "hybrid regime") -- not to mention the fact that it was already at war with Russia.
It ironically reveals how specious is the argument that Putin invaded Ukraine to thwart NATO expansion.
But I think it is fair to say that Ukraine was has genuine aspirations for a highly functioning democracy. They acknowledged their problems and have citizens who were actively working to root out corruption and improve their capacity for democracy. Those citizens are putting their lives on the line to repel the Russians because they really do have that dream of self-determination.
Whereas, in Russia, Putin has done a good job killing that dream of democracy. He similarly wants to kill that dream in Ukraine because Ukraine's success could reanimate that dream in Russia. Corruption of the soul.
people say its dangerous to escalate it, so lets not get involved. Is it not just as/more dangerous not to get involved? Sounds like russia is now threatening other nations from joining nato. If they don't join nato they are basically sitting ducks. Anyone think they could trust putin to stop at Ukraine? he will be emboldened after Ukraine.
Have fun with the hypothetical wet dreams. I'll stick to the reality where you swing wildly across the political spectrum in a never-ending pursuit of "owning the libs".
The fact that you sit in the same spot on the spectrum regardless of the issue is evidence of your partisanship hero...
You haven't thought about anything. You're told what to think and you think it. lol...
It's only one issue. The issue is whether you support military adventurism in the name of regime change. You support it whenever a republican president tells you to (Iraq - GWB, Ukraine - DJT). As Trump has backed away from praising Putin's failed Ukraine policy, so have you.
You also cosplay as a non-interventionist when you think it can be used to score political points against a democratic president.
Same old argument... People are being killed randomly by sick individuals...therefore it is ok for an "organized" national army to invade another country and kill innocent people.
Thousands of posts saying the same thing. Do you think you guys are going to change anyone's opinion or reinforce the one they already have? See you in another couple of pages of you and your knucklehead comrades posts.
No one said it's "ok"... It just happens to be absolutely idiotic and naive to think it's ever going to quit happening.
Russia screwed up. Their invasion is not going at all like they thought. They are doing horrible things... because it's a war and that's how they have ALWAYS behaved in war. That can all be true and it can STILL be true that the west provoked Russia's actions.
Yeah, too bad the invasion is not working out the way you wanted it to.

I supported the idea of liberal hegemony. I now realize it doesn't work and no longer support it. Not that complicated.
Trump was anti-war. Peace through strength was his policy and it is the correct policy.

If Trump was anti-war, why didn't he end the war in Afghanistan during his four years? Why did he continue military operations in Africa and the Middle East during his presidency? Missle strikes on Syria and Iran? Continued drone wars? Why did the anti-war Trump call Putin a savy genius for his invasion of Ukraine?
You really do believe anything that Trump tells you. It's pretty sad to read.

Where did I ever say I wanted the invasion??
Cheer up, man. The Moskva got blown to bits. Everyone who matters is happy. Must be several hundred dead Russian scumbags out there floating around the Black Sea.
This guy - Igor - no one is going to be selling him any Russian life insurance polices any time soon. Putin is going to do a Shoigu number on Igor.

If Russians would go home and stop killing Ukrainians then people will stop cheering when Russian soldiers die. The situation sucks, but it is Russia who is the aggressor and is leveling Ukrainian cities and killing Ukrainians. The "war mongers" as you put it are Russians who have invaded their neighbor.
The Russian army is so terrible and the economy so obsolete. If we woke up tomorrow to a regime change over there and the request to join NATO in a new bloc against China, we’d refuse. They are worse then dead weight. Literally blowing up their own flagships in the middle of a war zone.

It’s such a hilariously bad argument too. The only way to avoid more killing is
1) Russian retreat
2) Ukrainian surrender
Under the totally unbiased Ernest rules, these are totally equivalent and thus Ukraine is morally repugnant for not surrendering to murderous invaders, and instead going to war (gasp) to defend their homeland.
I supported the idea of liberal hegemony. I now realize it doesn't work and no longer support it. Not that complicated.

He was trying to. He's not an imbecile like Biden though so he wanted to do it responsibly rather than handing the country over to the Taliban in 9 hours.
Trump didn't say the invasion was genius. That's a lie stupid people believe because they're told to. Trump said recognizing the independence of the separatist regions was "pretty savvy" and referred to Putin as a peacekeeper. This was said BEFORE the invasion. Trump didn't think Putin would be dumb enough to invade.

They blew the ever-lovin' p!ss out that boat. That Moskva ship? Blew it sky high, stuff flying apart all over the goddam place.
Those Russians, they lie as a way of life. Even to each other and their own families. Disgusting people. Anyway, they are saying there was a fire in the baffroom or something, and that's how the Moskva ended up on the bottom of the ocean. Yeah, like this boat was sailing around for 40 years okay, and just happened to accidentally catch on fire two hours AFTER Ukraine started claiming it blew the thing up. You'd have to be pro-Pute up the ying to buy the stuff Russia says.

Was similar to twin towers, those flew apart nicely too, blessing New York with small pieces of rubble and human flesh of useless chair warmers.
