What we all saw clearly was a lack of capacity for Joe Biden to articulate his own policies. If he is fully in charge, why did he need so many notes to tell him what he thinks? Do you blame them for not releasing the Phase 3 data? In the trial in Brazil, Sinovac showed 50.38% effectiveness (keep in mind that 50% is the treshold to be considered a vaccine, because if you are below 50% that means more people in the vaccine group tested positive than in the placebo group).
But, the Chinese vaccines seem to be effective at keeping people from dying, so that's something. They use inactivated coronavirus so I guess it's like the antibody treatment that some covid patients have gotten. I would imagine that is what causes all of the side effects too.

50% effectiveness means that there are half as many cases in the vaccine group as the control group. Annual flu vaccines are typically in the 40 to 60% effectiveness range.
