are you still planning on running in the World Masters Championships in September or is that pretty much 'off the table' now, due to injuries and your progress stalling out the past 2 months?
The 376 day of training phase II.19mwp +60mhc +20mcd =99 minutes.
The 377 day of training phase II.I ran for 82 minutes.
And the sunday was my day off.
Tomorrow is hard day for every one in my team.

OK...good news.... I was was going off that last race (6:21 mile), the injuries you've been fighting in the legs and the 25 lbs overweight, still. But if YOU say you are heading there and all systems are go, then I'm happy to hear it! I guess your next race will need to be in a couple of weeks or so?
The 378 day of training phase II. My usual running loop for 133 minutes, checking up my running wheels it feels great for this morning section the evening section is on the way.
henry
henry have a nice trip back to KENYA, get a job.
The 379 day of training phase II. The evening section was great. Forty five minutes by that minutes I began to feeling the sharp pain in the quadercips.Right in it,but it is healing up.Sharp ices will do this evening. It will be directly where the pain comes from.
To cool down that sharp nerve for the goo work out the next day.

The 380 day of training phase II. 21mwp + 80mhc +20mcd =121 minutes for this morning section. The sharp pain is still acting up and it goes back to the hipp runs back to hamstring.Perhaps it might require a massage therapist to do the entire leg oil lubrications. What the hect!
Henry
Henry, have a nice trip back to KENYA, also please get a job.

How's it going, Henry? I hope it's not too hot where you are. Where I am (Japan) it's now the rainy season, so of course lots of rain and really humid weather. It's tough to get out there sometimes, but I think of your running and it helps!
Keep up the good work!

New Mexico is getting humid weather too.Run when is raining that can help unless there is thunderfolds.I run when is raining sometimes, but I'm careful with lightening.
Japan is a great place for Kenyan runners now days.Humid takes alot out of your skin isn't?
Take care

Henry: why is that? Why, over the past 10 years or so have some top Kenyans made Japan their 'training place'? I can't figure that one out.
It is because they are given a free education high school thru university, (though of dubious quality) and a steady paycheck as a company employee that allows them to train and get paid for it.

Depending on the high school, the quality could be quite good; however, I'd pretty much agree with your assessment of universtiy... for most of the people I know, university was pretty much "play time."
Good point about the company employment system as well. I'd also like to think that the coaching here in Japan (company level) is of pretty good quality.
If Nobby is out there he could give much better observations than I on this.
so, it's similar to the Kenyan coming to the US for a college education via an athletic scholarship, and competing in the NCAA/NAIA?....do they compete for a Japanese University, like they do in the US?
I guess this wasn't an option in the 70s, in Japan, when we got Kenyan greats like Rono, Boit, Ngeno, etc, to US schools?

Kenyans shop around, first it is US and when Japanes takes interest along with their companies yeah kenyan runners jump into that.
I came to USA because Boit and many other Kenyans were here and they are successful in education on top of their talent.
Now Japan so the need of Kenyan runners they want to offer more than any other countries.High Education in Japan is similar to Kenyan high school.
However,University education in America is way better if they get money to sponsors their university education.
All you guys say is true.
Henry
hey Henry, they said you're moving back to Kenya.
good luck.
HaHa Orville...
Coach was good at stuff like that, wasn't he?
It's John Abramson, btw. :)

I guess it's similar, although I don't think the number is as great as it was in the U.S. in the 70s and 80s.
Don't know much about the university competitive meets on the track, but there are a number of Kenyans who take part in the collegiate and corporate ekidens, of which there are many.
Again, if Nobby is out there, he can really fill is in on the situation.

I know what you mean about thunderstorms, Henry... I usually try and avoid those, too!
I don't think the humidity takes out of my skin so much; for me, it's more of a mental thing, the feeling that it's "heavier" outside with the high humidity.
By the way... when are you planning to go into Phase III?
