Walt Drenth led the Spartan ladies to a xc national championship and as far as I know runs a pretty clean program. I can't see MSU firing/demoting him.

He not only pursued it, he was offered the position and turned it down. Wingate will not announce until the end of the semester. I heard the dark horse for the position is Leford Green.

This doesn't make sense. He wanted them to stop using the n-word but used it himself. Did he slip? Did he use it for emphasis? Why did he want them to stop using it? Was this a common thing between black athletes (one has to assume no whites were using it or they would be gone too) or were they reciting rap lyrics? This seems like an overreaction unless he was being malicious in the use of the n-word.
I am certain more will come out of this story once he sues for wrongful termination.

Just another case of excessive, and often times wrong decisions from administrators. Sue the school, and if not true about the use of the n-word, sue the students that claimed it.
