Can most (50% or more) of guys run a 5 minute mile?

I've ran a 5 min mile weighing 200 lbs!

At the time I could bench over 315 lbs, squat and dead lift more then 400lbs.

I am certainly no running stud and I would agree most 'gym' guys can do this.

No, most people cannot run a 5 minute mile because they're either too fast twitch or too slow twitch to do it. But running the equivalent of a 5 minute mile (~12.3 100, ~55.9 400, or ~3 hour marathon) is certainly doable by almost anyone given the usual caveats (not too young or too old, not disabled, not female, etc.).

I'd be surprised if most guys could run an 8mm

I bet if those men ran for just a month or two that they could go under 8 easily.

They're plenty of 'muscle men' run a mile challenges on YouTube (quite a few uploaded just recently) and I've yet to see any of them get close to breaking 6 minutes.
