America going to be DQed for that arm though? The Portugal guy was a safe distance away from the American's space and the American really aggressively swung his arm out at him.

Nevermind! Just saw the replay. Looks different in slow motion.
I’m thinking Keely has the training/strength to get through this, though she’s had to run three very solid 800s including the flat-out final just minutes ago. But this is bread and butter to her.
I’m less sure that a 60m-focused Dina is going to get around that second lap in under 28.
I think she got third last year as she was coming back from injury. She really was out most of the season.
Mary did used to spook her and mess with her tactics for sure. But she eventually worked her out and basically worked harder and become fitter.
Odira looked pretty spectacular last year for the champs but we’ve yet to see her again this year? So she is one unknown and could be a threat. But we haven’t seen enough to know for sure.
It’s possible that was the case, but her side more framed it as she was raw tactically from few races. So rusty physically or tactically. Either way I think basically any 800m runner can be vulnerable against someone like Moraa who can sprint a 26 and then slow to a crawl, fight you off, tempt you with the cheese (inside pass). This is why Wanyonyi and Rudisha before him went to the front. Keely doesn’t want to run a 26-low to do so it seems and that means not getting caught up with Moraas race style. I think she can do it but Odira/the younger Moraa run from the back and favor a smoothly-paced race and they can really benefit from any Keely mistakes.
I do think this was true a few years ago but Keely is in a different league now whereas Mary Moraa has really gone backwards.
I need to see more from Odira to see if she will be a threat this year and you are not wrong - Mary Moraa will happily sacrifice her own race for her sister or teammate. Whether a super fit Keely can be taken down by their tactics remains to be seen.
It's impressive how much better Lutkenhaus' race craft has got in a year. He was humbled in Tokyo and now he's bossing the field. Compare to Attoui who completely sh*t the bed despite being arguably in as good shape as anyone in that field. It's a shame for Lutkenhaus that there isn't a champs this year, he'd be up with Wanyonyi and Arop among the favourites

Keely ran poorly in Tokyo. She got caught up in Moraa's game in a way that I thought she had outgrown. Maybe it was just a lack of tactical racing coming back from injury. In any case, she's the clear best in the world right now. If she stays fit, she'll dominate Euros and CWGs. If Keely sticks to her race plan from the gun, she's currently unbeatable in my view.
Europeans obviously…but why CWG? That’s a stronger field than today theoretically.
Right??
Europe has Werro.
CWG has Kenya, Uganda, Botswana, South Africa, Australia…

And the announcers in the US can talk about Mu all they like, but she hasn't been relevant since 2023. It's starting to look like a long road back for her, if she even bothers.

It should be, and I'd still expect her to dominate if she stays fit. She won't play silly games again, Painter and Meadows will see to that
Well then. I supposed World Ultimate might be the real test but who knows how that field ends up/how fit everyone is by then. Kenyans care about Commonwealth Games quite a bit.
