The label for the medication has always said to consult with your doctor before taking it when pregnant. You’re revealing vast ignorance of how medication is handled for pregnant women.
If you have now fully backtracked to this point where your claim is “moms should consult with their doctor before taking Tylenol” then congrats, you’re acknowledging that the big press conference did nothing to change the recommendations. That’s always been the case.
Which, of course, reveals what everyone standing up there really thinks about the evidence of Tylenols harms - it’s junk and not worth making decisions on.
(Well, Baccarelli has mortgage payments to make so he probably thinks otherwise, lol)
Bro, pregnant women by the dozens are guzzling Tylenol over politics and against that recommendation. It's too late. It’s a meme at this point. Many are literally invoking Trump's name as they do it. TDS is responsible. You're already on the wrong side of this and there is no going back.
Guzzling Tylenol is harmful for anybody. It’s pretty gross that you’re fantasizing about pregnant women harming themselves because you’re so caught up in the politics here.
Im in the side of gold standard evidence based science. You appear to be on the side of hoping pregnant women hurt themselves. And then making light of it. How charming.
Me: “there’s no good data showing Tylenol is unsafe. It should continue to be used as an important medication to control fever and maternal stress, both high risk to the developing baby. Of course, this should be done in consultation with a doctor as has been the recommendation (and on the label) for decades”
Them: “stop politicizing. Women should just tough out fevers and pain. The baby can handle it”
Do you have high quality data showing Tylenol is unsafe? If it existed, you wouldn’t be yammering like this because you could point to it.
I mean, Tylenol is on record stating they do not recommend pregnant women use any of their products...
Over the past decade alone, NIH, Harvard, John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, etc have conducted and published studies specific to Tylenol use in pregnant women and the affects on the fetus. Including statements regarding associations(not causation) of autism in children.
We know that Tylenol should always be used in consultation with your family doctor or under medical advise. We know that there are studies showing severe organ damage leading to death caused by excessive Tylenol use. We know that marathon runners should not use Tylenol due to dangerous and possible life threating side effects.
Is everyone going so hard in the paint in defense of Tylenol use in pregnant women simply because of Trump? If so, that's pretty deranged and dangerous behavior.

Tylenol has always not been recommended for pregnant women without consultation with your doctor... basically all OTC drugs are.
It's the only safe fever reducer for pregnant women. We know fever is very bad for fetuses.
Tylenol overdose is quite dangerous for the liver - thus why people should consult with their doctor before chronic or abnormal use. etc. Almost all tylenol overdoses happen in conjunction with alcohol. You can overdose and causes serious harm with any drug, your fearmongering is stupid.
The evidence for tylenol use during pregnancy causing autism is non-existent, there is a correlation that disappears when you control for familial effect.

Okay bud. You're the one making wild and unsupported claims without any sort of data backing it up. I've posted links supporting mine in the earlier pages of this thread.
Why is any of this discussion still dominating the news? We're seeing thousands and thousands of deranged people that are blinded by trump hate posting constantly to defend the use of a product that has the potential to be extremely dangerous when abused - and the dosage doesn't need to be all that significant to cause severe damage.
I'm seeing countless videos of pregnant mothers who have zero medical need to be taking Tylenol recording themselves ingesting the medication as some sort of protest to trump. it's wild! absolute insanity. If trump said tomorrow that trying to stand in front of a train and stopping it only with your unprotected body could cause autism, i would bet a lot of money we would see some of these same deranged individuals recording their bodies getting vaporized in protest.
Trump says a lot of stupid stuff that is either unfounded or a large stretch in evidence. ignore it and move on with your life. aren't you tired of being filled with rage every day for the past 10 years of his political existence?

It’s mind-boggling to see people ignore the scientific literature, the medical community and recommendations from pharma companies all to “own Trump”. It’s dangerous that posters on this thread are spreading misinformation for political reasons just because they don’t like Trump. This lack of concern for the safety of pregnant women and their soon to be children is ghoulish.

I posted an article earlier. You don’t understand how medications and pregnancy work. Nearly every medication is “off-label” such that they say “talk to your doctor” and the companies themselves will never say it’s ok for pregnant women on their own.
Tylenol is no different. It means effectively nothing about the actual safety of the drug.
The fact that people are expounding without understanding this basic fact that’s been true for decades shows they’re just too uninformed to have a real opinion.

The scientific literature is clear thus far. There is no strong evidence of risk to the developing baby AND the strongest studies show no effect. (Sibling matched studies.)
Tylenol is proven to help reduce fevers and maternal stress both of which can be severely harmful to a fetus. If you’re going to cast doubt on its safety without good evidence you will be harming women and babies.
Any statement that “the manufacturer says pregnant women shouldn’t use it” reveals profound ignorance about how medications are dispensed to pregnant women in the US. It’s a disqualifying error to make.

Trump said pregnant women shouldn’t take Tylenol.
Not “talk to your doctor.”
Thats at odds with the FDAs statement. It’s also objectively harmful considering Tylenol is the only fever reducing medication safe for pregnant women.
The trade off for fraudulent autism link RFK is pushing is more women will now cook their babies due to the baseless fearmongering.
This is basically a point for point rehash of HCQ or IVM for covid. “Oh look these crappy studies show an effect, let’s freak out!” Then, the best, largest studies show the null effect, but ideologues ignore them in favor of the crappy studies. The opposite of “gold standard”
The best study to date is the Swedish study of 2.5 million children over a 30 year time period. That study found initially that there did appear to be an increased risk of ADHD, Autism, etc. when people used Tylenol during pregnancy. But when the study took into account siblings who also had ADHD, Autism, etc., they found that there was no risk. ADHD, Autism, etc. have been shown to have a genetic component.
The recent Harvard study was a meta analysis and the researcher had to provide the following disclosure:
"Baccarelli noted in the “competing interests” section of the research paper that he has served as an expert witness for plaintiffs in a case involving potential links between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and neurodevelopmental disorders."
Ding. Ding. Ding. RFK, Jr. got this from his plaintiff's lawyer buddies. And despite getting paid $150k to be an expert witness, the court threw out the study fining that its shifting conclusions were unreliable.
But if RFK, Jr. gets the FDA to issue an advisory, now the plaintiff's lawyers will have something to through at the court as the big multi-district litigation case for Tylenol is on appeal.
And this may be one of the biggest and strangest horseshoes of the Trump era or any era in US political history. It used to be that whenever you sat around with a bunch of conservatives it only took about five minutes before someone started arguing that plaintiff's lawyers and runaway juries are destroying our country. Just about every Republican controlled state legislature passed tort reform in the early 2000s that significantly impaired the ability of plaintiff's lawyers to win big verdicts. On pharmaceutical case, a lot of jurisdictions created a presumption that a drug was safe if it had FDA approval, creating a burden on the plaintiffs that was all but impossible.
Today, RFK. Jr., a plaintiff's lawyer, is in charge of the FDA and is using it to advance big pharmaceutical litigation. If you walked into an RNC meeting 15 yeas ago and told them that the HHS secretary was going to be a plaintiff's lawyer, they would have sent you to Guantanamo. But here we are.
A Harvard dean whose work was cited as justification for curtailing Tylenol use provided what a judge called 'unreliable' expert testimony against the drug’s maker

In fairness RFK Jr is a lifelong Democrat, albeit one who was considered a fringe actor by most of the party, at least since the early 2000s.
So RFK Jr is an odd fit for the Republicans, but he fits with the MAGA "burn it all down" with minimal thought about what comes next attitude, thus bringing some of the lunatic left into the Trump tent.
It's really just another indicator of how complete Trump's hold over the RNC has become.

I have made no unsupported claims
Social media videos have no bearing on this discussion. Facts not feelings bro :)

Twitter doctors. Gotta love ‘em.
Yeah i agree talking about tik tok videos as evidence is hilarious 🤣🤣
Lucky for you the “random tweets” have been synthesized into a short document by their author (a right winger):
