Too bad he lost his top 10 spot because of the crash
Congrats to Vingegaard for the win, and also to Pogacar for the high level of entertainment
As a side note, Australia had 12 riders in the tour, compared to only 6 for the US. Hope that Girmay can pave the way for an influx of riders from Africa.
Vingegaard claims to be racing the Vuelta next, alongside Roglic. I wonder if Kuss will join them.
Bummer for him to lose top 10, but I’m sure the team is just happy he finished and only has minor injuries.
Another interesting note on the Americans. Many of them started strong and fizzled out or crashed out by the end. Even Kuss wasn’t the most important domestique for Jonas through the last few mountain stages. Kelderman and Benoot seemed to play bigger roles at the end of the stages. Was it all bad luck? Or did they really all fizzle out and some of their crashing were lack of focus and holding position? What’s up with Americans not being able to stay strong throughout?
