Hopefully his Tesla has a DVD player in it. He and his family can watch a couple of movies while they wait to charge the car.
This comes in really handy when my wife wants to stop in for some shopping and I'd rather not go into the store. I just sit in the car and watch streaming in air conditioned (or heated) comfort.
After reading your posts on this thread, why does it not surprise me that you’d rather spend time with your Tesla than with your wife.

I think most men would rather watch streaming than go shopping.
With Tesla allowing non-Tesla owners to use the fast chargers now there will undoubtedly be long lines at the fast chargers around the country. Fat Hurts' road trips will be spend waiting in line at the fast charger stations.
So you think Tesla doesn't know how to plan for that?
Allowing non-Teslas to charge at superchargers requires new charging equipment and/or retrofits. Tesla will roll this out slowly in such a way that it will not cause congestion.
Also, Tesla's software is far superior to other charging networks. Tesla's network knows who is planning to stop at which stations and when they will get there. So when you are on a road trip it automatically routes you to stations where there will be less congestion.
So Tesla will tell me how many non-Teslas are waiting in line at each charging station?
You always paint the rosiest picture of what is going on with Tesla. But you can not hide your eyes on some things. Like the picture Gary showed of a mile-long line of Teslas waiting to charge their Teslas.
That was a very rare event. It was a long time ago and Tesla has gotten better at solving the congestion problem since then.
But l see long lines at Sam's Club gas stations every time I go there. People wait an extra half hour or more just to save a few cents per gallon. And they waste more gas while waiting!
Meanwhile, I never waste my time at a gas station because I charge my car at home.
It’s great that F150 lightning has over 200k orders but that’s not necessarily a sign that it would take over Tesla at all. The Cybertruck has over 1 million pre orders, which is 5x more than the lightning.

I think both will sell as many as they can make for the foreseeable future. But the Cybertruck will sell at a much higher profit.
Ford's problem is that they need to transition their customers to electric while still selling enough gas powered trucks to support their transition costs. If word gets out about how good the F150 Lightning is and too many people only want the electric version, Ford is in trouble.
There is no driving out of the way. You just might stop at a different exit.
Got it. You drive out of your way.
He DOES drive out of his way. I just did a Tesla supercharger search for Houston (which is the 2nd largest city size-wize in America). They are all in the western part of Houston and each is about 15 miles away from the other. And the traffic in Houston is terrible. If you are fortunate enough to live semi-close to a supercharger but that one is busy it might take you 50 minutes OUT OF YOUR WAY to get to another. If you live in the south, east or north Houston you are already screwed. There is no supercharger close to you. Fat Hurts is selling us a bill of goods.

And I love how Fat Hurts paints it as there is a Tesla supercharging station at every exit. Again, Houston is like 1600 square miles and there are only like 3 supercharger stations. It might take you half a day to get to one. You don't just "take the next exit." It is an all day affair charging your car.
