I truly am concerned that President Biden has mental health issues, it may not be dementia, but I'm willing to bet it will come out before his term is over that there will be a medical cognitive decline diagnosis.

Yeah. A 12% increase in cases over the last 2 weeks is troublesome for the US. As you said, hopefully, with the majority of the most at-risk groups being vaccinated, deaths and hospitalizations will go down. New England and the Mid-Atlantic are the worst with the South and West better.

Here in GA, the DPH has not posted any data for a week on vaccines since they are "revamping" the public site. Perhaps, being last in vaccinations for quite a while has prompted the powers that be to change the reporting. Cases and hospitalizations are at the lowest levels since June 2020. The percent positive is at an all-time low also. Definitely going in the right direction here right now.

Cases for 60+ have dropped 21% in the last two weeks while the 0-59 age group has dropped 5%. Likely due to the vaccines since GA supposedly focused on vaccinating the most at-risk groups longer than other states. We have now opened it up to 16+ which should help our total numbers.

It does look like we have moved ahead of Alabama in percent receiving one dose. So we have that going for us. Suck on it Tide.

With the COVID fatigue cemented in, my only question is what will happen with all these variants on the loose. Will these current vaccines be effective at all against the mutations? Will younger people be at higher risk like with the Spanish flu? What % of the world’s population has not yet been exposed to COVID? As bad as the last year and change has seemed, we could be on the cusp of the actual more extensive and deadly outbreak. I’d love to be convinced otherwise. I suppose one huge positive factor is pharma’s ability to tweak their tech to deal with the mutations, but there is just too much we don’t know about efficacy duration.
