This made me think of that story from last year where a guy coming back from the bathroom grabbed a waitress' tuchus and she body slammed him and made a big scene. There was video and he was returning to the table to be with his longtime girlfriend who is the mother of his daughters.

I would love to know the aftermath of incidents like these. Do the women stay with these men after nationally embarrassing the family in such a way?
You need to look up the definition of assault. There's room for different types of assault. And d-bags who commit them. Dude doesn't get a pass for being "less bad".
He looks like he'd say, "WELL, HE DID IT, HE DESERVES WHAT'S COMING... YOU CAN'T DO THAT" if it was someone else. He also looks like "that annoying loudmouth" you'd hate to sit next to on a flight.

Yes, it's her workplace, but I think that's irrelevant. It's also a public thoroughfare, and what the guy did can probably be construed as simple assault. A slap in the face would certainly be simple assault; I don't see how a slap on the butt is anything other than that.
My problem is with statements like "He took my power." No he did not. He slapped your butt. You maintained your professionalism instead of dropping your professionalism and getting angry. Getting angry, shouting something at him, would have been an entirely reasonable response--but I see why you didn't do that. Still, the appropriate nonprofessional response would have been something like "Hey a&&hoLe, keep your hands to yourself!"
Borderline whining on CBS This Morning, however, and saying, "He took my power," is just silly.

Bozarjian describes the incident as a "smack and grab" -- "advising that he also grabbed her buttocks in the same motion."
Bozarjian says she felt a "sharp sting" and it caused her to pause during the live broadcast -- which you can see in the video.
Callaway's attorney issued this statement. "While we regret the situation, Mr. Callaway did not act with any criminal intentions."

Barring something unusual about the slap, one open-handed slap which does not cause any injury is unlikely to qualify as any type of "assault" under Pennsylvania law.

Not going to judge a guy's heart, but pretty weak to have your lawyer publicly defend you as a Family Man. He ought to crawl the entire course to make amends, or volunteer somewhere. Empty apologies once removed says it all.
When I see modern stuff like this, I am reminded of the story of John Profumo, British Cabinet secretary in the 1960's, who was infamously caught in a lie after an affair with a call girl. Instead of publicly groveling, or having his attorney do so on his behalf, he quietly went down to an East End charity house and quietly washed dishes and served until he was named chairman of the board some years later. He served his penance in this way for over 40 years, and earned tremendous respect! Different generations. Straight up dignity.
