So which part of this does the FBI not like?

1. That a coach had personal financial gain and accepted large amounts of money to get a kid into school.

2. The coach got a kid into school through the side door.

What if a coach got a non-athlete into school using this side door and did not accept $ to do it. Where does that fall since there is no large financial gain or bribe?

The more I look into this, it's clear that it can touch every single basketball or football player ever recruited into a college simply to play, and coast along pretending to take classes.

This is just beginning, ya'll.

Speculate if you wish. What we do know is lots of rich people who posing as sailors and water polo players paid lots of $$ to circumvent the right way of doing things.

This just goes to credentialing and the social cache that comes with attending an Ivy.

You could have a degree in Interpretive Dance from Harvard, or an engineering degree from ______ State U. People will assume the Harvard grad is the more accomplished simply due to being admitted to the school.

It's time to really tear this system apart. College is a sham and it's gotten worse over the past 35 years. It's only recently that you hear more people talking about how they have tons of debt but no skills, employers complain that they aren't receiving quality grads, parents are paying huge sums, the government is tossing money around like it's free, the schools are making out like bandits. This scandal just rips the band aid off exposes the festering wound that is college in 2019.

It's a bloated racket. It needs to stop.

The founder of IMG, Mark McCormick cheated lots of athletes and celebs as an agent. A smarmy weasel. Tennis in particular.

Setting aside the enormous amount of fraud here, the tax evasion portion alone would be enough to interest the FBI/IRS. The parents were donating to a fake charity to make a lot of the bribes and then deducting the donations. Do you not understand that?

Two Stanford students who were rejected by Yale and USC have filed a lawsuit against the college bribery ringleader and 8 universities.

Erica Olsen and Kalea Woods are suing Rick Singer -- the man who pulled the strings in the biggest admissions bribery case ever -- along with USC, Stanford, UCLA, University of San Diego, Texas, Wake Forest, Yale and Georgetown. The students allege "unqualified students found their way into the admissions rolls of highly selective universities, while those students who played by the rules and did not have college-bribing parents were denied admissions."

The 2 students are trying to turn this into a class action lawsuit, and presumably recruit others who have been denied admission as a result of bribery and other schemes.

"Had she known that the system at Yale University was warped and rigged by fraud, she would not have spent the money to apply to the school. She also did not receive what she paid for—a fair admissions consideration process,” Plaintiff Erica Olsen says in the complaint.

"Her degree is now not worth as much as it was before, because prospective employers may now question whether she was admitted to the university on her own merits, versus having parents who were willing to bribe school officials,” the lawsuit continues.
