MIAC Track 2017

Also, that's a rough one for St. Mary's. He ran 48.78 in high school and then 50.18/48.04 in '15 and 49.46/48.10 in '16. Seemed to be making strides though he never quite broke through indoor and had pretty dismal finishes at Nationals 19th/17th. Wonder if he was sick of being on a bad team?

Klamm is Bethel's 400m stars, haven't you noticed? There's no one else. Not only was the freshman class overhyped, their returners aren't exactly flying either. I may be eating my words in a few days but so far.... meh.

Sean Bjork's "choke" would still be better than 80% of the MIAC. Wether we like him or not, we should still respect him as a competitor.

There I was, wearing my favorite pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt I got for placing top 50 at a crappy invitational I was at my junior year of high school, stalking Adam Brandts TFRRS times and stats fully prepared to tear that MF down, you know, like most normal LetsRun advocates, when I realized something...

He has improved a ton in his time at St. Thomas. Like, seriously.

Bugler in the mile tomorrow with Escher, Coffey, and just about all the Oles. Predictions?

I'm assuming Coffey is pacing for his teammates to try and hit qualifiers. Escher is just in there to run fast.

Im thinking the Oles go 1-4 including Escher, followed by bugler just under 4:20. Then everyone else.

I think a few get under 4:17

Joe is out there to run fast. Also how about our friend Jerry, 1:52. He's back. Fredrickson won't be close and you already know Coffey is gonna get smacked in 1k. All hail king Jerry!

ON TO CONFERENCE!!

Bjork fueled by the lrc haters to a great performance. Bugler looked smooth rolling in at 4:15. Interested to see if he runs the mile or 3k at the last chance. Also interested to see if Eggers 4:13 sticks or if he'll have to grind out another half second at the last chance meet. Thomas Knobbe is DONE--probably.

Bjork was fueled by pure angst. I hope he finds something else to get angry about for conference so that he races well! Fingers crossed for Eggers that he can qualify with that.

Great to see Paul Timm back! He had to work hard for it, but he's back in contention. Jones had a great race, though that was a very tough looking 8:46. Knobbe, I genuinely hope that you bounce back soon.

Bugler, not half bad for a Johnnie who "doesn't train for indoor." I think he goes for it in the 3k at last chance. 4:15 speed (strength?) in the 3k would come in handy. And he looks to be in better shape than his 8:35 last season.

And ketola is getting slept on, kind of. 4:18 mile, 15:20 5k. In a slow race at conference it's his.

Lots of fast times this weekend! It will be interesting to see how the oles split up at conference. You have to think that nobody who's not named donson can stop the ole sweep but do eggers or Bjork go for the 800 for more points? Both events seem fairly deep but mile is maybe more of a lock?

Yeah, It sure looks like the Ole's are going to run away with the mile unless Donson can stick his nose in there. The eight is going to be much more contested, but it would be interesting to see Bjork hop in to try and chase a silver medal. 3k looks like it could end up all non-Oles. Bugler and Jovan are still the favorites, but Jones looked really good with that win yesterday. 5k should be Jovan again, maybe Adam Brandt and Ketola can catch him.

What makes you think the 800 field is going to keel over and die for Bjork? Lillehaugen, Krogman, Frederickson, Supinski and Hatton not only all have faster 800m times than Bjork, they also all have speed that Bjork doesn't if it gets even mildly tactical. He'd be lucky to get top 5.
