He meant 7 pm Eastern DAYLIGHT Time, which is 6 pm Eastern Time. Gotta account for daylights savings time. Time is a complex subject unless we all switch to universal time.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, I'm not going to read this entire thread, but why did China have to be DQ'ed for the US to get into the final? This is exactly why they run meets like this on a 9-lane track, so that if there's a problem like this they can put all the teams that have earned a spot in the final in plus one team that was fouled. And there is precedent - in London 2012, the Kenyan men's 4x400 fouled the South African team, and SA DNF'ed the semi. Kenya was DQ'ed, but SA got to run the final, and 9 teams ran that final.
Allyson is the lifetime darling but Tori Bowie would have a chance to go home in her first Olympics with all 3 color of medals.
With the 4x400 heats tomorrow just ~1hr before the 4x100 finals, will Tori get a leg of the 4x1 final while Allyson runs the 4x400 heat?

They've got McCorory and Okolo on the relay pool, in addition to Felix, Francis, and Hastings. Don't think they'd turn down a medal.

looks like they qualified in the re-run. Here comes the protest from China.
apparently the relay time was changed. It already happened at 6 pmET. We missed it.
So they did not have to finish the race to file and win a protest as once she was interfered with that was enough. Had to run the same runners in the same order so no "subs" in the same Lane. Gardner still leaving too early!!?!! Felix doesn't have to run the 4x400mr qualifier today/Fri. for them to make the finals. She probably will run the 4X100mr final today /Fri and then the 4X400mr final the next day Sat.
