Americans are looking good so far! Desi is nowhere in the frame.
Desi back in the frame!
Desi 30 seconds back in 10th but totally alone. Hopefully the race walker or another begins to falter & Desi can have someone to key off of

Helah Kiprop's form is breaking down even more.
30 seconds back for Desi and she is running more even splits. She will pick off some runners late in the race and end up with Bronze. Heard it here first
Great shot of Desi lurking just now. I know it seems like she's out, but come guys...we've all seen Desi Linden race, we know this isn't over for her until she's standing on the side of the road...

What race walker? Are you serious man?
Desi not out of it.
I'm calling it now. No medal for the Americans.
I think there is probably scientific evidence to support their game plan of holding on to the water bottles (Flanagan still has hers 3.5 minutes after grabbing it) but the fact that the Africans aren't doing it shows they aren't being bothered by the heat.
I think the biggest advantage africans have in the marathon (particularly men) is they are smaller and dissipate heat better. I think FLangan is too big for ar ace like this.
Malmö an idiot saying relative humidity meaningless. Come run here in Houston this morning. What a doofus.

She and the Hansons think she is just beating the system though and outsmarting everyone by running even splits. Sure, she might be 6th up to even 3rd. But she won't win the race because that just isn't the way to win a major marathon championship.
I think the heat is going to get to Shalane even though I picked her for silver. It has to be lurking in the back of her mind, how hot it is and what happened in LA.
Amy out I think
Tsegaye won in Dubai in hot conditions..
Why are the US running panties so shiny?
Desi is closing!
The Belarus athlete is going to tank...hard and will finish out of the top 10. You heard it here first.
Amy Hastings is fading.

its the dewpoint, not the relative humidity that makes your run in Houston hard. The 73 dewpoint makes your run in Houston tough.
Desi will be first American.
