So now Dartmouth is actually 9 points ahead of where I predicted, putting them at 161 if the rest of my predictions hold. The main reason they came out ahead was that I completely forgot to predict Kaitlin Whitehorn for the High Jump win, simply because I forgot to look at that event. She also outperformed by winning the 100m, which means she still has a good shot at the 200m, completing an impressive triple matched only by a potentially epic quadruple by Abbey D if she decides to help out an already strong 4x8.

I'll be there this year.

They just lost 8 points from my prediction between the 800m and the 400m hurdles, so I am down to 153 now. If they had put Meghan Krumpoch in the 800m it might have gotten them more points here, but now they look even stronger in the 4x800m

I've been having issues with the result pages as well. I've been keeping it on "most recent event" and trying to glimpse them in time before they switch to the next one.

Lancer Timing is having some uncharacteristic issues with live results. I would really like to know the women's shot put scores or an accurate women's team score. I think Dartmouth is down by 4 going into the 4x4 but I can't be sure.

A very tight meet on both sides, particulalry the men's. When people ask me why track isn't more popular, I always cite the way meets are presented.

The 4 x 400 had been over for more than 45 minutes before team scores were officially announced as the DT and HJ had to be added in.

It reminded me of the NCAA meet a few years in Des Moines when fans left the stadium 10 minutes after the fact without knowing who won the meet.

If the coaches don't 100% know for sure who won 20 minutes after the meet is over, how are the fans supposed to be excited about it?

There should be a 100% ironclad rule at team meets. The 4 x 400 doesn't start until all of the other events are done and in. If the meet is on the line, the announcer should then say exactly what has to happen for it to change.

Imagine on the other hand if people had live scores being transmitted from the high jump and discus. The drama of the tight team battle would have been a great spectacle but track as it now is presented is basically impossible to follow even for insiders (coaches, meet officials etc).

PS. It's interesting to see how the men's team scores compare to the projected day 1 scores. Nearly ever team scored less than expected except for Dartmouth which scored way more.

No, I'm not praising the great volunteers, weather and facilities. I'm praising the fact that if you combine the yale men's and women's team scores together, they still finish last in both meets.

Anyone for affirmative action for track teams? Some teams compete as one gender, others as two.
