Mike Losapio. He set the conference record in the 1500m while at LaSalle. He also ran a 1:52 in high school. Olympic trials in the 800m. A blazing fast 1000. He may be one of the best runners ever in the united states.
Leroy Buttafuoco would have blown his doors off.
Missouri women- Sabrina doernhoeffer. 4th place at the oly trials, NCAA winner (can't remember the event) and world XC team member in '89.

Add Claudette Groenendaal.
Claudette was the whole package. Great athlete, smart, and gorgeous. She was so close to becoming a major track & field star and the media would have loved her. I think injury sidelined her. Oregon had many great female runners in the 1980s... Claudette Groenendaal, Leanne Warren, Eryn Forbes, Kathy Hayes, Kim Roth, Annette Peters. The recent Ducks with likes of Jordan Hasay don't approach the 1980s female Ducks.
What about Josh Lampron or Franklyn Sanchez?

1. 800m Gary Reed 1:43.68
2. 10000m Cam Leavins 27:27.96
3. 1500m Graham Hood 3:34.98
Hood was born in Winnipeg, Raised in Ontario (Burlington) for HS anyway, went to College in Arkansas - his sojourn out west was at the end of his career. Hood also ran 3.33 (CR at the time).
The 3:34 is listed as the Canadian Record.
Sorry, I meant BC Record

What about Jason Pyrah?
Jason is probably a close 4th; made the Olympic team and very consistent top 10 in the US in the 1500
Falcon, numerous NCAA titles, fastest mile in the world in 1990 and top 5 all time in US (I think); Teg, two time Oly and numerous World Champs, 2 mile US record holder; Curp, former World Record half marathon, consistently a top road racer for many years
For Indiana, I'd say Lee Calhoun (Gary Roosevelt HS), who won individual Olympic gold (110m hurdles) in two Olympics. WR-holder and five-time national champ (AAU back then).

No Jim Spivey?
And while Ed Torres was good, without the twin thing he doesn't stand out that much. There are probably at least a dozen guys who deserve to be listed ahead of him.
