Thanks, OWL, but a few days ago mountaingoat wrote:

Oddly enough, Peter Graham (who was a great miler/xc runner) was my college teammate/roommate, and was Matt Gonzales' h.s. coach in Santa Fe. Look for Matt to be a huge force at XC natl's next year.
....a couple of more Colorado runners: Julie Jenkins, and Wes Ashford.
Oops, Rick Bergesen graduated from Borah (Idaho)H.S.
Idaho again-
Corissa Yasen
State XC Champ, muliple state championships in track(high jump, 400 meters, etc). Went to college at Perdue and was NCAA heptathalon champion.
She was found dead in her apartment in Coeur d'Alene a few years ago. Apparently it was from natural causes.

You are only going with the obvious and you include McGrath and Rupp? Not yet!
No one has piped in from Louisiana. I did see a name that I think went to SU but no H.S.'s. So before we get to April fools day I'll just go out on a limb and say me. That's right me. Now everyone can bash me and pipe in who is better than me and we will get to know who the best from Louisiana is. Starting with a teammate of mine Bobby Beck who still holds the high school record in the mile. By the way he ran that race all alone on a track that had over an inch of water on it at the time that the rain had stoped and the steam started to rise.
