The 4x100 is currently the deepest it has ever been on March 31st. I thought last year was crazy but we already have the same number of teams under 41 this year compared to the END of last year.
Servite 40.05
Poly 40.69 (EXTREMELY impressive given their loss of very important runners)
Loyola 40.73
Notre Dame 40.76
Cathedral 40.78
Newbury Park 40.96 (Not just a distance school!)
Additionally, you have the Quran Clayton-anchored Oak Hills team and El Cerrito with Chad Works-Wright at 41.00, De La Salle at 41.10 despite losing Jaden Jefferson, recent sprint powerhouse Rancho Cucamonga at 41.36, and Mira Costa at 41.36, who notably have an extremely strong distance squad.
Going into Arcadia last year we already saw the most teams under 41 ever, and I was sure that the invitational 4x100 was gonna be crazy cause of that - we ended up seeing the deepest 4x100 race in California history. This year I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that we're gonna see a 39.
