Gonna have to connect the dots for me on how their 2nd place finish last year, which was secured solely by two field athletes, has any bearing on their track athletes’ ability to peak correctly.
Particularly when the guy who coaches said track athletes has historically displayed an almost pathological lack of comprehension of periodization.
That said, I genuinely hope I’m wrong and that Morales does run faster this year. The fact that he’s only a sophomore and probably still physically developing means there’s a good shot. But having kids run gaudy times in March that they struggle to duplicate the rest of the spring has long been a Chase Frazier calling card.
But what do I know, I’m just a hater.
I guess I can't say anything other than wait and see but their girls have done well. That 4x800 squad is no joke.

Ben Jaster and Rocky Hansen found out they were anemic and had low iron levels. Once improved, they were able to run much faster on the track.
Ben Jaster went 9:14 - 8:38 in one year
Rocky Hansen went 9:38 - 8:35 in two years.

Nice win by Hernandez in the boys 1600. No sign of his teammate Noonan, though?
Morales seemingly going backward in for the second weekend in a row, anyone with insight there?
Wilson leading JSerra onslaught in girls 3200, wonder if more of that squad will jump ship to her coach.
OC Champs has always been a tough meet to get a read on, but this year seems especially murky. Onward to league and the post season death march, I suppose.

Nice fun meet. However, in the long run in means...very little.
Noonan just ran 4:06 then 8:45 in back to back weeks in early April. Why should he run? Get back to the grind.
