What a crazy state.. Hedengren hasn't raced since Woodbridge and is allowed to race State with her team? In no other state is that possible, but love it. Save 'dem legs!!
She was injured and very doubtful for this race. It will be interesting to see how she does.
Looks like Hedegren won and with a crazy fast time too
Looks like Hedegren won and with a crazy fast time too
That time looks like it will get around a 145 speed rating which means she is about 30 seconds slower than at Woodbridge. Hopefully, she can regain most of her fitness before NXR. Favero and Alder were in the 135 to 140 range going into the race.
By the way her team won. Alder who transferred in from out of state was a big pickup.
4a- Mountain View sweeps all. Julie Moore and Kyle Steadman wins the individual titles. MV girls win by a significant margin and MV boys beat orem by a small (less than 5 points) margin.
Mountain View wins 4a girls, Julie Moore wins individually, Mountain View Boys win on a Tiebreaker over Orem, keeping the streak alive. Despite Westfall beating Steadman
I can confirm that Simmons ran it more like a tempo. Didn’t seem spent at all by the end. Ran solo the whole race as well
So you’re telling me Simmons can run a half marathon at 4:44 pace? He could run faster than most NCAA guys at the moment and run 62:03 in the half marathon? Because that’s threshold tempo pace, the other tempo pace is roughly marathon…
What you meant to say “Simmons form is very efficient like a professional and is extremely fit”. The best look relaxed when they run fast and recovery quickly after their hard efforts. I’m sure Simmons can win NXN. But people throw the word “tempo” around freely.
Those are some great teams. All 10 of those could win state in most places. Utah has way too many divisions for a small state. At least 3 of these teams get to be champs.

Do we know what happened to her? She said after the race she had barely trained the past 3 to 4 weeks and was a little worried she would have nothing for this race. And I know she was sick off an on since summer going into the season. If she can run like this while plagued with injuries/sicknesses she is truly on another level.
She was in a boot and on crutches two weeks before this race but I don't know the details of the injury. She said in the interview this race was the first time she has run since getting out of the boot.
