Many here seem to believe that the number of guns are not the problem, but rather blame the shooters. Of course the shooters are very likely mentally ill and are responsible for pulling the trigger. So, how does America determine who the bad guys are and who the good guys are? And if you’re a good guy and can obtain guns including assault weapons, who can guarantee that they will be good guys for the whole time they own the guns?

And which is the cause and which is the effect? Might it be that people in violent neighborhoods arm themselves as a consequence of the violence. I'll bet it goes in both directions: Having a gun can increase AND decrease your danger. The net result depends on lots of factors such as depression and gun safety training.

How many people do you know that have been killed by a dog?
If the media sensationalized dog attacks they way they do school shootings people would be afraid to go outside.
