They were on both points. Yet, very few media outlets reported on that and made George Floyd out to be a great Father, brother, and member of society. That is the spin that needs to end. Report all the facts, not just those that can sensationalize the story with the highest emotional grab.
I didn't see Floyd portrayed to be good. They just thought he shouldn't have been knelt on and his criminal behavior was irrelevant to whether this was justified. He was a criminal suspect, so I think most people acknowledged he might have committed crimes.
My point was if they had already been punished for other crimes, shouldn't those be in the past?
I wasn't really considering whether the media were spinning it either. I was considering what the police knew. Did the police know Floyd's criminal past and did they know he was on drugs?
